At the beginning, many players in Crimson Desert want to avoid worrying about money. We will show you where you can find a gold bar early on, so you don’t have to worry about it for a while.
What is a gold bar worth? If you find gold bars in Crimson Desert, you can take them to a bank and exchange them for 500 silver. This way, especially in the beginning, you can afford almost everything you need – whether it’s gear, food, resources, or mounts. It’s worth keeping an eye out for them.
That’s why we will show you a hiding place where you can find a gold bar early in the game and not have to worry about an empty wallet for the next few hours.
Are there any prerequisites? Yes, in order to obtain the bars without committing theft, you will need a mask that allows you to engage in criminal activities. You can either get it as loot from bandits or during one of the early bounty quests from the notice board. Once you have it, you can start your search.
Gold Bar Hideout at the Lion’s Mane Estate
Fortunately, you can find a gold bar shortly after the tutorial in the northwest of the city Hernand, specifically in the Lion’s Mane Estate. You can find it here:
How do you get into the estate? If you try to enter by “normal” means, the guards will stop you. The easiest way to get in is to go to the eastern side of the estate and open a window there. Climb through, and once inside, no one will question what you’re doing there. You can look around in peace.
Where do you find the bar? Then go to the ground floor foyer and keep to the right when looking from the front door into the room. You should quickly find the fireplace. Here’s what it looks like:
Then access your menu to put on your mask and select “Steal”. Be sure to wait for the alarm aura after you steal so you don’t risk a bounty. That’s how you grab the gold bar. Of course, you could just sell it, but that would only give you a fraction of what the bar is really worth.
Exchange Gold Bar for Silver
To exchange the bar for usable coins as efficiently as possible, you should go to a bank. Conveniently, there is one quite close, located just southeast of the estate:
There, you can easily exchange for 500 silver coins. Alternatively, if you already have enough silver at this time, you can buy a safe license for 100 silver and store your bar there. It will then accrue interest, allowing you to withdraw regularly.
In the beginning, though, it makes sense to move with the silver first.
