A player demonstrated in a short clip an exciting way to move faster across the map or take cover in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare & Warzone.
What is this technique? In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, there are actually only 3 advanced movement techniques:
- Running/Tactical Sprint
- Crouching/Sliding/Prone
- Jumping
However, players mix the techniques together and achieve entirely new and crazy ways to move across the maps. This also applies to Warzone. Here, particularly the Slide-Cancel is significant, as it allows you to move faster and safer through Verdansk.
A player has now shown a technique that allows you to achieve a speed briefly that is significantly above the usual level. This way you can reach your target point faster, overcome areas that are being watched by opponents, or surprise your enemies.

What does this look like? On reddit, the player “deathdude01” posted a clip showing the small speed boost through some examples:
In this, he jumps from a high edge onto an angled surface and can use another jump to create a kind of bouncing effect to catapult himself a few meters further. The shooter in the sniper house on the map “Crash” has little chance of hitting the passing enemy. Instead, deathdude pulls out his AX-50 and takes out the shooter on the middle level.
Timing & Map Conditions are Key
How does this work? Basically, you need 2 conditions:
- A higher level that doesn’t eliminate you when you jump off
- An angled surface at the spot where you land
Jump off the higher level with the highest possible speed – it’s best to use the Tactical Sprint (press “Sprint” quickly twice). The moment you hit the angled ground, jump again to gain a few extra meters.
In addition to the two map conditions, you need the right settings, good map knowledge, and a bit of practice if you want to pull off the move perfectly. However, there are plenty of places where even the little trick can help you move faster across the map and take cover when you’re under pressure or know an opponent has already seen you.
Does this work in Warzone as well? The reddit clip comes from multiplayer, but we also tried it out in Warzone right away. And indeed, this works here too. Timing is essential – as is often the case with movement techniques in Call of Duty.
If you jump from one of the bridges over the dried-up canal to the slope below and perform the move at the right moment, you benefit from a significant speed boost that “catapults” you directly into the canal bed. This can be particularly useful when you are moving over cliffs or hills while fleeing or chasing someone.
If the slope continues further, you can even jump more often and get further. However, the speed decreases slightly with each ground touch, and you should gain new momentum after 1 or 2 jumps with a Tactical Sprint.

What other movement techniques are there? The CoD YouTuber JGOD demonstrated several techniques in one of his videos that can help you move faster and more safely across the map or gain an advantage in 1vs1 situations:
- Slide-Cancel (Crouch, Crouch, Tactical Sprint)
- Bunny-Hop (Crouch, Aim, Jump)
- Slide-Cancel into Bunny-Hop (Crouch, Crouch, Jump, Aim)
- Pro Trick to skip climbing levels

These techniques work especially well on the controller. In 1vs1 situations, you can benefit significantly from Aim Assist and make it harder for your enemies to aim at you quickly.
