World of Warcraft Classic HC is already considered tough. But for one person, it wasn’t tough enough. He took on the challenge to master it all naked.
The challenge of “World of Warcraft Classic” in the Hardcore variant is actually challenging enough. Reaching level 60 without dying along the way is undoubtedly a nearly impossible achievement for many. However, some players find even that not sufficient and want to take it a step further.
That’s what the Reddit user Fortunately_Relevant did. He completed “WoW Classic HC” – naked and without allocating a single talent point.
What class did he play? The class of his choice was the Hunter. This makes sense, as a Hunter can send his pet ahead to tank the damage while he shoots from the background. However, the damage output isn’t very high. Even at level 59, he does only about 100 damage with automatic attacks and his abilities cannot boast large damage numbers.
What evidence is there? As proof, he released a short video showing the final fight against a mob that promotes his dwarf “Dryasthmatic” to level 60. He also shows excerpts from the HC Challenge addon that monitors and records special achievements. Throughout the entire run, he didn’t wear any armor and didn’t allocate a single talent point. Additionally, he completed some particularly difficult quests at the required level.
Was it ever close? When asked what the hardest part was, Fortunately_Relevant recounts a situation at level 52:
The hardest part was attempting to solo the quest “Dragonkin Menace” at level 52. The strategy was to use Aspect of the Cheetah to pull the mobs one by one into the Redridge Mountains and kill them before they reset on their spawn point. I got stunned by the caster elite and critically hit twice in a row. I survived with 81 HP and luckily my “Feign Death” worked.
In the future, he plans to try the same with a Warrior – which is considered nearly impossible, as Warriors must engage in melee combat and without armor, they simply look old.
Sometimes a run can also end very spontaneously – when a normally friendly city guard has had enough.
