What’s it all about? Have you ever thought: “The game is nice, but if it had features from MMORPG XY, it would be so much better and more fun!” You most likely have.
It often happens that an MMO has the potential to become something great and is also somewhat fun. But it just lacks something, or a crucial feature is not as great as it could be. Maybe the PvP is not a total disaster or the raids leave much to be desired, or perhaps other features. They would be so much better if the developers could take inspiration from other MMORPGs.
But what if that were possible? If we could take the best individual components from various MMORPGs and combine them as we wish? How would the MMORPG you would create look like?
The components and features would include, for example:
- Combat system
- Raids
- Dungeons
- Game world
- Class system
- Crafting system
- Armor system
- Setting and atmosphere
- PvP content
- Graphics and character creator
- Soundtrack
- Content updates
- Payment model
- Update system (free updates, season pass, etc.)
You would borrow these components from games like WoW, FFXIV, Black Desert, ESO, Blade and Soul, Star Trek, Guild Wars 2, TERA, and many others and then assemble them in a way that you like the most. This would lead to the MMORPG that you would perceive as perfect.
