Call of Duty: Warzone continues to swing the nerf bat, bringing a new update with further weapon adjustments. Among the nerf victims are some of the best weapons in the game, including Krig 6, FARA 83, and OTs 9. MeinMMO shows you the details.
At the start of Season 5, Call of Duty: Warzone announced that a small turning point is approaching. If a weapon has been one of the top rifles in the game for months, it is set to become weaker to make room for new, unused firearms.
Just last week, with the introduction of the Mid-Season 5, there were some changes, and now another update with extensive weapon adjustments is coming. This time, many top weapons are affected.
Warzone: Update on September 15 brings nerfs for 6 top weapons
When is the update coming? The update and the changes are online.
Which top weapons are affected? Whether weapons for range or for close combat – Warzone introduces some important changes with the latest nerf parade that have the potential to change the weapon meta. The following top weapons will be nerfed:
- AK-47 from Cold War – More recoil
- FARA 83 – Less damage but better multipliers
- Krig 6 – More recoil, less neck damage
- QBZ-83 – Slightly more recoil
- OTs 9 – Less base damage, less neck damage
- Stoner 63 – Recoil overhaul
Additionally, there were a few pure buffs for the two tactical rifles AUG and M16 from Cold War. We list all currently known adjustments for you.

- Neck multiplier from 1.0 to 1.2
- Chest multiplier from 1.0 to 1.1

- Recoil increased
- Neck multiplier from 1.3 to 1.1

- Recoil slightly increased
- Recoil dampening activated
- OTs 9 – Nerf
- Recoil slightly increased
- Base damage first damage range from 34 to 31
- Base damage second damage range from 20 to 21
- Headshot multiplier from 1.35 to 1.52
- Neck multiplier from 1.35 to 1.0
- TEC-9 – Nerf
- Base damage first damage range from 26 to 24
- Base damage second damage range from 24 to 22
- Neck multiplier from 1.0 to 1.1
- Stoner 63 – Nerf
- Recoil revised
- Rifle kick adjusted
- “Raise Interrupt Time” increased from 0.8 to 1.0 seconds
- AUG from Cold War – Buff
- Recoil slightly reduced
- Attachment adjustments for AUG and M16 from Cold War
- Quick-fire barrel now increases fire rate by 6% instead of 5%
- Titan barrel now increases fire rate by 8% instead of 7%
The developers at Raven Software emphasize two things in the preliminary patch notes:
- There may be further adjustments to the strong weapons
- Every weapon in the game should be usable
Point 2 refers primarily to the tactical rifles, which have fallen into obscurity after the major nerfs at the end of Season 3. However, the Warzone makers also have specific ideas about where the individual rifles should stand. This cannot always be adjusted with concrete changes but is a long process to bring the weapons where they should be.
