Call of Duty: Warzone has released an impressive cinematic trailer for the new Season 6. You can find out what new information is revealed by the trailer on MeinMMO.
Update October 7: The new Season 6 is live. You can find all information and the patch notes for update 1.43 here.
What’s going on? Call of Duty: Warzone is approaching the last season with Black Ops Cold War and has now begun the conclusion of the joint story. What started with the capture of Operator Adler now ends with the ceremonial reunification of the legendary “Black Ops” operators Woods, Mason, and Hudson.
To this end, the Warzone creators have now released a cinematic trailer. However, it not only concludes the story in 80s Verdansk but is also likely to have major impacts on the coming months in the game. For after the start of Season 6, Verdansk will probably never be the same as we know it:
6 Things the New Trailer Reveals – Release, Story, Vanguard
The Release of Season 6 is confirmed: The new trailer shows the exact start date of Season 6 – Thursday, October 7. This was also the previously suspected date, as the Battle Pass for Season 5 ends on this day. Season 6 likely starts at 6 AM our time.
Verdansk takes a full hit: As already hinted in the story of Modern Warfare and the teaser for the new Warzone map, Verdansk will be destroyed as part of Season 6. The trailer suggests that the entire downtown area, viewed from the stadium towards the south, will be destroyed.
There is still no detailed information about the map changes in Season 6, but it seems that Verdansk will undergo significant changes before its farewell. Here you can get an impression of how Warzone was at release.
Viewers are keen on the destruction: The trailer is well received by viewers. Almost 12 hours after its release, more than 170,000 users had already clicked on the trailer on YouTube, and 16,390 gave it a thumbs up. In contrast, there are only 393 thumbs down.
The poster-boy of Season 6 is Mason: It was not so certain that Alex Mason would come as a playable operator for Cold War and Warzone. The story events of the seasons take place quite a while after those in the campaign, and Mason was supposed to raise his son in Alaska before being reactivated for the campaign of Black Ops II.
But after the trailer, it is clear that Mason will come into play with Season 6, and you will likely unlock the legendary operator through the Battle Pass. This would be the first “good” story character to appear in the course of the Cold War season as a showcase operator. Until now, it has always been nasty henchmen of the villain “Perseus,” who pulls the strings behind the scenes.

Possible connection to Vanguard: The trailer begins with a scene in a German World War bunker. The Nazis apparently conquered the area around the fictional state of “Kastovia” and built facilities. More than this small hint about the World War setting of the new CoDs cannot be found so far.
The “Black Ops” team is reunited: The probably best scene for fans of the CoD series is the heroic advance of the 4 operators from Black Ops. The new companion Adler, who only joined the team with Cold War, is not necessarily a fan favorite yet. But seeing Mason, Hudson, and Woods together running through Verdansk was indeed a special moment.
Cold War is entering its last season, and Warzone wants to say goodbye to Verdansk with a bang – in every sense of the word. It is still too early to say how significant the map changes will be. But at first glance, the destruction looks massive, and the last weeks in Verdansk are likely to look somewhat different.
We also look forward to hearing your opinion on the trailer. Is it time for Verdansk to disappear? Or would you have preferred regular adjustments to keep the map fresh?
