Call of Duty: Warzone offers some features that other Battle Royales do not have. One of them is the contracts that reward you with loads of money and loot. We will show you how to get the most out of the contracts.
When should I complete which contract? In CoD Warzone, you can gain a significant advantage over opponents by accepting or completing a contract at the right time. As a rough overview:
- Scavenges (Magnifying Glass Icon) should be accepted early
- Bounties (Crosshair Icon) a bit later after the start
- Recon (Flag Icon) towards the end or when you want to position yourself
What is the purpose of completing contracts? Contracts usually provide you with equipment and money. With money, you can buy items at the supply stations scattered across the map. Here we explain which items you should buy in each round.
Particularly useful are loadouts that you can acquire for $8,500. However, some contracts also grant you certain rewards, such as predicting the next circle. This is particularly useful later in the game. Therefore, we explain when you should complete which contract.
1. Early: Scavenges
What kind of contract is this? Scavenges task you with collecting specific crates in a relatively small zone. These crates only spawn once you accept the contract and are only visible to you.

If you collect all three assigned crates within the given time, you will receive a bonus. Here you usually get a gas mask early, which can protect you from damage in the circle for a few seconds.
Why should I complete it early? By doing a Scavenge, you are guaranteed to find three crates that no one else can loot. These may contain weapons, money or even killstreaks.
The loot in these crates is of slightly better quality than what you find in regular crates. Additionally, they are marked on the map, so you won’t have to search long.
This is why it is worth taking a Scavenge right after landing or after respawning from the Gulag. This way, you are well-equipped right after the (re)start.
2. Midgame: Bounties
What kind of contract is this? Bounties require you to kill a specific target (another player). They provide the most money of all contracts and can also be among the easiest to complete.
The target of your bounty is indicated by a yellow circle on the map, which shrinks as you get closer. But beware: The target is also alerted by a danger indicator showing how close you are.
Why should I complete it in the midgame? To win a fight against another player, it is good to have a strong weapon or even a loadout with the strongest weapons.
Without proper equipment, you may be at a disadvantage in the fight and get eliminated instead of securing a kill and a reward. Therefore, it is advisable to accept bounties a little later.
Especially in the Solo mode of Warzone, this is helpful, as the target may be killed by another player. This comes with a certain risk, but may quickly get you money.
If you are the sought target yourself, you can hide for the three minutes of the contract or kill the hunter to claim the reward yourself.
3. Later: Recons
What kind of contract is this? Recon contracts require you to secure a specific area. These are often bunker facilities, halls, or underground rooms.
You need to position yourself close to a small radar station located there and fill a bar. The more team members gather there, the faster it goes.
Why should I complete it later? For recon contracts, you always receive the insight into where the next circle will appear as a reward. This gives you a tactical advantage over other players.
Later in the game, this allows you to head out earlier so you won’t have to panic escape from the gas and leave important loot behind.
Especially for the snipers among you, this is a big advantage because you can secure a good spot early on and observe the terrain.
More contracts mean more money
By the way, you receive a bonus for every contract you complete in a round. The more contracts you complete, the more money you will earn, up to a bonus of 80%.
Keep that in mind if you want to buy a self-revive or a drone (UAV). But also pay attention to your money: Too much won’t help you. If you already have a few thousand dollars, a loadout, UAV, and a self-revive, it is not worth accepting another contract. You will hardly be able to benefit from it.
