Together with Season 5, Call of Duty: Warzone has received numerous changes. However, not all of them are documented in the patch notes. MeinMMO shows you four changes that came with the season and were not revealed to you.
What are these changes? It concerns some altered content in Warzone that is not listed in the patch notes for Season 5. In overview, these are:
- new prices at supply stations
- access cards
- changes to the prison
- a possible Easter egg for the new CoD 2020
At least the first three of these changes can impact how well you play in Warzone. The Easter egg is likely a reference to the new Call of Duty 2020, which according to leaks will be a Black Ops and is supposed to be released in October.
1. Revives are cheaper
Revives are one of the most important items you should buy in every round in Warzone. Until now, they cost $4,500. With Season 5, they are now only $4,000. This applies to both self-revives and those of a team member.
The price is not much lower but can make the difference between a revived team member and defeat. Especially if you need to buy a revive multiple times in the match, this shows significantly in the price.
2. Access cards and better bunkers
Since Season 5, the red access cards are back, which allow you to open bunkers. These are apparently random loot that you can find and collect in Warzone.
Once you find a card, you can head to one of the many bunkers on the map and loot it. This is worth it with Season 5 because the loot there has also been improved. You should find several tens of thousands of dollars and really good weapons there. There might soon be even more cool loot there, like the crazy minigun from Season 4.
Besides the red key cards, there is another key card that opens a secret room in the now accessible stadium. You can read more about this below regarding the Easter egg for CoD 2020.
3. New objects at Prison
Prison is one of the best landing zones in Warzone and has received some minor adjustments with Season 5. However, it is not about new weapons or loot, but about new structures and objects.
On the roof of Prison, there are now some spikes and a large antenna that currently serve no apparent purpose. It is quite possible that these will be needed for the new secret data from Season 5 and that similar changes may show up in other locations.
4. “Cold War” Easter Egg
The last secret change is the new room in the stadium. You can enter this with a special key card and find a computer displaying seemingly random numbers.
What exactly the numbers mean has not yet been determined by players. However, it is suspected that this could be a teaser or an Easter egg for the upcoming Call of Duty 2020. It is supposed to be called “Cold War” and be revealed in Warzone (via GameStar).
This would align with the developers’ statement that Warzone will outlive Modern Warfare. It is conceivable that the story of the upcoming CoD titles will be continued in Warzone, thus connecting the titles with one another.
What else changes with Season 5?
The developers have already shown a roadmap for Season 5, outlining the current and some upcoming content. One of the changes that have already been implemented is the weekly rotation of weapons in the Gulag. In the first week, there are now shotguns and handguns.
Additionally, there are two new weapons in Season 5, the AN-94 and the ISO, which you can unlock. In addition to these two, more weapons will be added throughout the season, including a new melee weapon.
In line with the stylish new guns, CoD is now offering a new feature that no one needs but everyone wants. With the weapon inspection, you can now take a closer look at your favorite firearms and proudly display your earned camos.
