The update pace in Call of Duty: Warzone has significantly increased since Season 2 / 2022, and it seems that the developers want to keep pushing the gas. Currently, it looks like there will be a new map in Season 4: “Fortune’s Keep.” However, this concerns many players directly.
Call of Duty: Warzone started a small riddle on Twitter. They showed a few letters and a kind of interference image along with gold bars.
Within the image, users could decipher the words “Fortune’s Keep.” The surprise came afterward: Call of Duty announces a new map for Warzone.
The next part of the riddle is to reveal the Tac Map. This is supposed to start throughout the day. We will embed the tweet here:
What does that mean? At the moment, everything indicates that Warzone will get a new map in Season 4. According to the current hints, the new map will replace the small map “Rebirth Island.”
The Battle Pass for Season 3 ends on June 22 – this could also be the start of the new season and therefore the new map.
Currently, details are still missing, but there were already hints in the blog for Season 3 that Rebirth Island could be attacked and that they want to preempt the opposing forces (via callofduty.com).
There it was said that enemy forces would try to take control of devices on the island through hacker attacks. Possibly, mercenaries are on the way to attack the island.
To preempt the attack, the allied forces want to advance on Rebirth Island itself to the base of the mercenaries. This could possibly be the new map “Fortune’s Keep.”
We will keep an eye on the situation – as soon as there is more information on the topic, you will find more about it on MeinMMO.
What do players say about it? Rebirth Island is considered the more popular map. The smaller map stands for more action and is for some players the only reason to play Warzone. Caldera remains under criticism despite many changes.
Accordingly, the initial reactions look skeptical. Players are worried about their favorite map and trust is currently low that Warzone can offer a reasonable alternative. Here are a few comments on the topic:
- @TiradoWaymer on Twitter: ‘I hope they don’t ruin the game with this change.’
- @Snatx on Twitter: ‘We’re changing the map, and people hate Caldera. Now people play Rebirth Island and enjoy it. Let’s change this map too! – Leave Rebirth Island as it is and rather bring map rotation. Rebirth is great and plays fun.’
- @ChaoticGooby on Twitter: ‘I swear, if this is just a smaller Caldera, with just as many bushes and trees, then I will not play Warzone anymore. Then we’ll see each other only at the release of CoD MW2.‘
The mood around the release of a new map is skeptical, and we are also interested in your opinion on the topic. Feel free to leave a comment with your thoughts on the topic.
By the way, Warzone will get a successor this year, with the new map also being partly known. The most important information about this can be found here: CoD Warzone 2 is coming in 2022 – all information on release, map and leaks
