CoD Warzone: Season 4 – New Map Rotation is Emerging
What gameplay request does Season 4 fulfill? After the new map “Fortune’s Keep” was announced, concerns immediately arose in the community: Is the new map replacing the popular Rebirth Island?
In the blog for Season 4, the developers clarify: With the new season, there are 3 active maps in CoD Warzone, Rebirth Island remains in the game. That was the biggest player request in recent days.
The blog hints that there will be a map rotation in the future. Sometimes Fortune’s Keep is available, sometimes Rebirth Island. However, more details are still missing.
What is certain is that Rebirth Island will disappear briefly during the mid-season, but will return later.
CoD Warzone: Season 4 – Content at the Season Start
As usual, right at the start, there will be a fresh Battle Pass and many new contents. We will list the individual content points and provide a brief explanation.
- New Map: Fortune’s Keep
The new map is about the same size as Rebirth Island and is considered a “Resurgence” map. Fortune’s Keep has been designed accordingly for the “Resurrection” mode and is meant to provide a similar gameplay experience to Rebirth Island. The overview map and size comparisons from players can be found here. We are embedding the first trailer showcasing the map here:
- Overhaul on Caldera
The large map of Warzone has faced a lot of criticism. The developers are now responding to the feedback and are changing Caldera in many areas:
- New micro-locations and more loot
- Secret underground mercenary vaults
- 50% less vegetation & better visibility
- Adjusted over a dozen locations
- Popular location “Storage Town”
At least at the start of the season, Caldera will certainly receive visits more often than in Season 3. Whether the map will win a place in the hearts of Warzone soldiers remains to be seen. Here is the new overview map of Caldera:
- In-Game Event: Cash Extraction
Also available only on Fortune’s Keep for now: Cash Extraction. The event starts randomly during a match. Mercenaries try to get their loot off the island – flares show you the hotspots. You can take over the loot if you dare.
- Contract: Black Market Supply Run
On Fortune’s Keep, you can experience a new contract at the start. With the Black Market Run, you need to quickly reach a specific buy station, which then becomes a “Black Market” that offers you special deals. With enough cash, you have the chance to receive specialist bonuses, the extremely powerful “Foresight” bonus, or even a minigun with nebula ammunition.
- EMP Grenade
A new grenade. The tactical item allows you to briefly deactivate enemy vehicles and affected enemies lose their HUD for a moment.
- Cash Mode: Golden Plunder
An extended version of the “Blood Money” mode. Here you get more cash for killed players, the number of participants increases from 100 to 120, and you need to collect 5,000,000 in cash. Additionally, there are bunkers with massive cash via golden keycards and broken cash machines also help replenish your balance.
- Event: Mercenaries of Fortune
Immediately at the start of Season 4, a live event goes online. You can complete certain tasks on Caldera and Fortune’s Keep to earn cosmetics.
- New Weapons
As always, at the start of the season, you will receive two weapons through the new Battle Pass. There is the submachine gun “Marco 5” with high mobility and a lot of damage at the closest ranges. And there is the LMG “UGM-8” – its advantages also include high mobility and large magazines.
CoD Warzone: Season 4 – Content for the Mid-Season
The blog also provides a glimpse into the mid-season content.
- More Weapons
Two more weapons are already known: Push Dagger is a small fist blade and is supposed to arrive before the mid-season. By mid-season 4, there will also be an assault rifle: Vargo-S. It is supposed to be a stable rifle with high versatility and fire rate.
- Armoured SUV
An armored vehicle with a turret on the roof. Additionally, the vehicle offers you a nitro boost for full speed.

- Titanium Trials
A revised version of the popular Iron Trials is supposed to come into the game. However, there are not many details available yet.
- Rebirth Island Zombies?
The developers are still keeping quiet about this as well. They write in the blog: “There are strange rumors about a wave of undead and the ultimate test for operators going online…” These rumors stem from leaks that zombies might appear on Rebirth. No further official details have been released.
This was an overview of the new Season 4. Extensive changes to the weapons are likely to come again. In terms of balancing, Warzone has been very active in recent updates, and Season 4 is expected to change a lot regarding the weapons meta.
After the season starts, we will promptly adjust our list of the best weapons in Warzone.
Please feel free to leave a comment with your thoughts on the new season.
