With the latest patch for Call of Duty: Warzone, numerous changes were made that were not listed in the patch notes. These “secret changes” introduce, among other things, a feature that players have been missing since release.
What is this feature? It’s about throwing weapons – something that players have long wished for. In most Battle Royales, it is possible to simply throw away a picked-up weapon, for example, to give it to teammates who have no weapon.
However, this was not possible in Warzone until now. Those who wanted to get rid of their weapon had to find a new one to replace the old one. Giving a weapon to friends was therefore not possible.
As YouTuber and CoD expert TheXclusiveAce has found out, in the latest major update 1.20 from April 29, secret changes have been implemented. One of them is the ability to simply throw weapons on the ground.
This now allows you to leave weapons for your teammates when they come back from the Gulag and have nothing but a pistol. You can find the complete video with the secret changes of the update here:

Another significant change for Warzone: As a second major point of changes with the patch, Ace discovered that the crates in Warzone no longer guarantee a fixed amount of money – at least in games with friends in teams of three or four.
Previously, the glowing crates could contain between $500-$3000. Now, that is no longer a guaranteed content. Thus, it is now harder for players to buy important items in Warzone.
This includes items such as revives or the drone (UAV). This leads to aggressive playstyles being punished or becoming harder to execute, as players have less ability for scouting and reviving.
What else is changing? The update also removed one of the contracts from Warzone, the bounties, which was not documented. The new contract for reviving the entire team simply replaced it.
However, this was not well received by players and led to a massive protest. The resistance was apparently so great that this change was reversed in an “emergency patch” on April 30.
In Warzone, the duration for which some killstreaks remain active changes from only about a minute to a full ten. This affects the shield, the trophy system, and the shield turret.
Changes to Multiplayer
There are also some changes for the multiplayer mode of Modern Warfare. According to Ace, the behavior of the sniper rifle Dragunov and the fire rate of light machine guns are changing. These should become significantly stronger.
Although all of these are mostly good changes, Ace and many other players are now quite annoyed with the patch policy and communication. They are frustrated that undocumented changes keep coming and they can hardly understand it.
Particularly something like throwing weapons is something players have wished for and would have been pleased about. The fact that such things can only be found by coincidence and intensive testing bothers the players.
