With Season 4, a new contract has arrived in Call of Duty: Warzone: Contraband. Completing this rare contract comes with a lot of cash and a blueprint that you can keep forever.
What is this contract? The new Season 4 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare stirred up a lot of dust in Warzone as well. The distribution of weapons to loot has changed significantly, there are now crazy in-match events, and you can now wreck Verdansk with miniguns.
But another mechanic has sneaked into the game with the big Update 1.22 – Contraband contracts.
“Contraband” contract provides free blueprint
This is a relatively rare contract that provides you with a lot of cash for your match and also unlocks a blueprint that you can use in other matches. Here you can find all the important information to be successful as a Warzone smuggler.
Step 1: Find the Contraband case
How do I start the contract? You won’t find the contract, like other contracts in Warzone, simply as a collectible item in Verdansk; it comes from 2 possible sources:
- Complete some contracts and receive the Contraband as a reward
- Take the contract from another player by eliminating them and collecting the case
The contract takes the form of a case. Once you start the contract, a countdown begins, and you have 4 minutes to deliver the package to its marked destination.
If you want to specifically hunt for the case, complete as many contracts as possible and hope for a drop upon completion. Compared to the other contracts in Warzone, the case is rather rare, but still quite obtainable.

Step 2: Bring the case to the extraction point
How does it work? The English YouTuber “Rawr” showed in one of his videos the exact process of the contract, and the images here in the article are from his video.
To start the smuggling operation, you must not have another contract running. Once you pick up the case, Warzone marks a point on the map where you can extract the hot item.
Now you have 4 minutes to secure the case. At the marked point, you need to call a helicopter. This works very similarly to the Plunder mode when you have some of your cash collected in between.
Once you activate the signal, it takes about 30 seconds for a large helicopter to hover over the area. After the pilot refuses to take your team for a victory out of Verdansk, you will have to attach the case to the cable, and the reward is yours.

Step 3: Collect the reward and admire the blueprint
What do I get for the extraction? As payment, you will receive a decent amount of cash and a blueprint:
- $5,000 as a base reward – significantly more depending on contract bonuses
- A weapon blueprint that you can keep and use
At the start of the contracts with Season 4, there is a nice blueprint for the sniper rifle AX-50, which has some strong builds in Warzone. The blueprint will be distributed to the entire team if you are alive at the end of the contract.
A worthwhile haul, similar to a visit to the Atom Bunker 11. There, you receive a strong MP7 blueprint for solving the puzzle.

Do I need to pay attention to anything else? The extraction helicopter is large, highly visible, and is also shown on the mini-map. Nearby teams may see through your plan and may check what you are up to. So, expect annoying enemy soldiers at any time.
Additionally, you should leave other cases behind if you already have a Contraband contract running. The new contract overwrites the old one, and you will get a new objective point while the old extraction point becomes unusable.
If you specifically go looking for the blueprint, you should unlock it after a few attempts at the latest. Don’t be aggressive and let time run out if the extraction point is under heavy pressure. Instead, find a way to flank and take out the opponents with the best weapons in Warzone.
