The special Nuke skin in Call of Duty: Warzone 2 was previously only available if you completed a tough challenge. Now the requirements have been relaxed, making the rewards easier to achieve. This has disappointed players who have already unlocked the skin.
What is this special skin? The “Nuke skin” is very rare, as you have to earn a Nuke in Warzone to obtain it. To even start working towards the Nuke, you had to complete a tough challenge and win five consecutive Warzone matches.
Once you lose a match, your progress was reset, and you had to start over. But that is now a thing of the past.
What has changed? The developer studio Raven Software, part of Activision, stated in a tweet on June 7:
“From now on, the Champions Quest is activated for all players in all Battle Royale modes! This week is your last chance to earn the current rewards of the Champion Quest before they expire. New rewards will come with Warzone2 Season 04.”
This means that the requirement to win five consecutive matches has been eliminated. Every player can now enter the zone and take on the Champions Quest.
However, the rewards are not just given out for free, as you still need to collect the necessary components to build the atomic bomb. After that, the bomb must be placed and defended.
By doing this, you secure the special Nuke skin, an emblem, a calling card, and a weapon talisman.
At least until the start of the new season on June 14, which will bring additional content. Including a new map:
“This is really not fair”
How does the community react to the change? Several users express their displeasure under the tweet. Streamer Cloakzy replies with a series of question marks, while content creator FaZe Swagg posts many L’s, which means L-Move, or Loser-Move.
Two short responses that still convey that both players are not exactly thrilled.
ModenasHD writes: “L-Move. This is really not fair for those who had to grind hard for the five victories. The skins are no longer a rarity.”
There is also discussion in the Subreddit “CODWarzone”. The user tallstan12 writes there: “It’s really frustrating considering so many players earned the 5 wins and completed the contract, even though the maximum number of Nuke attempts is limited to 4. Now they’re just given out to everyone and you have an unlimited number of attempts, lol.”
However, there are also opposing voices who view the change positively. Twitter user howtofeelnothin writes: “Actually, it’s a W (Win), as it was almost impossible for many players.”
Ashbach99 replies: “And that’s exactly the point, it shouldn’t be a gift.”
