What kind of weapon is this? The “Battle Axe” is a new melee weapon that players can unlock in CoD Warzone and Cold War in the new Season 6. But this won’t be the only new melee weapon in the upcoming season. Hammer and Sickle will also be available to use.

What kind of weapon is this? In the preview of the content for Season 6, the Warzone team showcased some new weapons. At the start of a new season, the shooter often gets new weapons to bring fresh energy to the matches. Whether they will impact the meta will become clear in the days and weeks following the season start.
How do you get the weapon? The Battle Axe is available right at the start of the new season. This applies to all three new free weapons. There are two ways to unlock the Battle Axe.
- By completing an in-game challenge – the other two weapons are linked to ranks in the Battle Pass
- What the challenge to unlock it looks like is still unclear. However, you will read about it on MeinMMO.
- Alternatively, you can purchase the corresponding bundle in the Warzone shop. As with the Sai, you will unlock the base weapon and a unique blueprint version.
What other weapons are there? The preview showcased five weapons:
- .410 Ironhide (available at the start of the season) – You will obtain the shotgun by reaching level 15 in the Battle Pass
- Grav (available at the start of the season) – To obtain the assault rifle, you need to progress in the Battle Pass and reach level 31
- Battle Axe (available at the start of the season) – As mentioned above
- Lapa – The SMG will appear later in Season 6 during the event on October 19. It will likely be available as a reward in the Halloween event and as a bundle in the shop.
- Hammer & Sickle will be introduced later in Season 6
When does Season 6 start in Warzone and what will happen?
When is the start? Season 6 in Warzone begins on Thursday, October 7.
What will happen? Part of Verdansk will explode, changing the map for you. Additionally, the Halloween event “The Haunting” will start on October 19, for which many details are still missing.
Also in Cold War, a lot will happen: Three new maps and a large zombie map have been announced.
