After update 1.18 for CoD: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Warzone, players in the Gulag of the Battle Royale encountered a bug that can lead to a significant advantage or disadvantage. The 1vs1 duel can quickly become unfair. We explain what you should watch out for.
What have players discovered there in Warzone? Recently, some players discovered a new bug in the Gulag of Warzone, the Battle Royale mode of CoD Modern Warfare, which apparently sneaked into the game with the update 1.18. It was only after this update that players encountered this phenomenon.
Usually, the fights in the Gulag are fought by both fighters with an identical loadout. You don’t get other weapons there. At least, that was how it was until now.
However, it has now been found that in the Gulag (in the active match), there can also be other weapons simply lying around on the ground, which might even be significantly better than the currently assigned weapon.
What causes this bug? How exactly this phenomenon occurs is currently unknown. The author of the post with the corresponding video was initially unsure if it was a bug or a new feature.
Many players, however, rule out an intended feature and suspect it could be loot that an eliminated player dropped at a specific location on the regular Warzone map after their death. These items could then be glitched through the Warzone map into the Gulag and remained there on the ground.
Currently, this is the most common theory surrounding the mysterious weapon find. Other players have also made this observation. The phenomenon apparently occurs only randomly and cannot be consciously reproduced.
What you should currently pay attention to in the Gulag: Whether it’s a bug or not – if you land in the Gulag currently, you should take a quick look around. You might get lucky and have a better weapon right at the start of the round.
Additionally, you should also be more careful and watch out not to be immediately shot down by an opponent with a potentially stronger weapon. So you should proceed a bit more cautiously in the Gulag than usual.
What is the Gulag in Warzone? The Gulag is basically a kind of mini-game in the Battle Royale mode Warzone. You end up there if you are eliminated during a match and then compete in a 1vs1 duel against another eliminated player on a compact map.
Both players use the same randomly assigned loadout. The winner then gets a second chance in the form of a respawn. For the loser, the match is then finally over.
