The “Field of View” settings give players of Call of Duty: Warzone on PC a larger field of view and an advantage over console soldiers. Now, a professional Warzone player showed that you can get even more out of it with a small adjustment.
By using suitable settings, you can secure certain advantages in Call of Duty: Warzone over players who enter the battle royale with the default options. These include:
- Opening the parachute yourself
- Fast looting vs. fast reloading
- Setting the deadzone for the controller
- 13 settings that give you an advantage in Warzone
However, there are differences between the PC version and the settings options on the PS4 and Xbox One consoles.
Soldiers with a computer can, for example, adjust their “Field of View” (FoV) options and gain a larger field of view. This slightly distorts the view, especially when sprinting. But generally, this is considered an advantage for PC players.
A professional Warzone player, “Swagg,” demonstrated in one of his English videos how you can set your FoV so that it can even help you when aiming. We embed the video here for you:
YouTuber swears by influenced aiming field of view
How can I set this? You need to set your aiming field of view to “Influenced” in the settings. To do this, go:
- Into the Warzone settings
- Select the “General” tab
- There you’ll find the option “Screen” and first “Field of View”
- Expand the field below and switch the “Aiming Field of View” from “Independently” to “Influenced”
- This works for all sights, iron sights up to a magnification of 3.25 (no sniper sights)
What are the benefits? The influence of your aiming settings gives you a larger field of view when aiming. By default, your view resets to the normal field of view. This gives you two advantages:
- You see more of your surroundings while aiming
- The optical recoil is reduced
The setting is purely an optical change. And although it is just an optical trick, streamer Swagg feels that his assault rifle CR-56 AMAX in Warzone has barely any recoil now.
He says in his video: “The AMAX is 1,000% my new tournament weapon, because you can set something on PC: influenced FoV. The way you can control it… you will see the hits I make with it, I am speechless. I can’t believe how good the weapon is on PC compared to consoles.”
This trick is not new and applies to all shooters that offer an FoV slider along with the option to adjust the aiming field of view. YouTuber “Webzy” demonstrated a comparison of the options in Warzone in one of his videos at the end of August and swears by the small trick as a big help when aiming. In his English video, you also see the two field of view settings side by side:
Setting has small pitfalls
So should I definitely set it or are there also disadvantages? This trick can work for you, but the two YouTubers don’t talk about the disadvantages that this option brings.
Because you have a visually reduced recoil, but your targets will also be correspondingly smaller. Additionally, the option takes away some zoom from the affected sights.

The image clearly shows how much more of the environment is displayed on your screen. However, the zoom is also reduced, and while with normal settings you can almost inspect the delivery note of the crate, with influenced FoV you can see almost the entire crate in your sight.
Additionally, the sight retains the same size. This increases the risk that you might miss something important happening in the area covered by your sight.
Pros and cons of influenced sight field of view
If you play on a large screen, you should give the option a try. Webzy says he took a few matches to get used to it. But after a bit of adjustment, he found it to be an extremely strong setting that helped him get better. Swagg even says that he will change his tournament weapon because of the option.
But whether this can really help you, you have to try for yourself. In the end, such optical settings are often a matter of personal preference.
