The highly anticipated mid-season update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 is just around the corner. The developers announced numerous changes in recent days. Now it is confirmed that Season 2 Reloaded will also nerf one of the currently most powerful weapons.
What is the mid-season update? Season 2 Reloaded, as the mid-season update is officially named, is the second part of the respective content cycle of Call of Duty. With a new season, new features such as maps and weapons are typically announced.
Some of these features are available at the start of the season, while others will only be released at the “halfway point” of the mid-season. Traditionally, the developers also bring a lot of bug fixes and balance changes into the game with the mid-season updates. We have summarized a brief overview of the contents of Season 2 Reloaded for you here: CoD MW2 & Warzone 2: Mid-Season 2 starts tomorrow – All info in 3 minutes
When does the mid-season update start? The developers announced the update for Wednesday, March 15 at 6:00 PM. It is likely that there will be a pre-load for Season 2 Reloaded during the day.
There are also changes for the new map Ashika Island. An overview of the new map and the main features of Season 2 can be found here in the trailer:
Developers announce weapon balance changes
What balance changes have been announced? The elephant in the room is certainly the KV-Broadside. The new shotgun of the Kastov platform became part of the weapon arsenal with the start of Season 2. Since then it has caused fear and terror in Al’Mazrah and on Ashika Island.
The multiplayer is not spared either: Since the map “Shipment” is back in the playlist, players are also falling victim to the shotgun in droves. The gun is so powerful mainly due to the “Dragon’s Breath Ammunition,” which turns the KV-Broadside into a fire-breathing monster.
By the way, this is not the first time a fire shotgun has dominated the Warzone. It is no wonder that large parts of the community are calling for a nerf of the weapon. On Twitter, the developers responded and announced a change to the weapon.
Besides the shotgun, a killstreak in Warzone 2 is also affected. The bomb drone will disappear for an indefinite period. The killstreak, originally invented by players, already caused trouble in Season 1. Now the developers want to find a long-term solution.
Season 2 Reloaded aims to address audio issues
What changes have been announced? Audio issues in shooters can be really annoying. If you can’t hear your opponents properly, it can significantly disrupt gameplay. With poor sound, you are simply at a disadvantage. Poor sound in battle royale games like CoD Warzone is a problem that also frustrates DrDisrespect time and again.
Audio issues cause frustration repeatedly in the Call of Duty community. Season 2 Reloaded aims to address these problems. On Twitter, the developers addressed some core issues. Among other things, the sub-mix will be changed so that enemy footsteps can be better distinguished from other sounds and stand out more clearly from the soundscape.
The developers of Infinity Ward also promise changes to the sound of footsteps on sand. These should be better heard in the future and stand out better from other sounds. PC players will again be able to choose between stereo and surround output.
Now your opinion is being asked! What do you think of the changes? Is the nerf of the KV-Broadside timely? Do you hope that the developers finally get the audio issues under control?
