The new video about Call of Duty: Warzone has apparently accidentally leaked a map for Season 3 in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. The video shows this for about a second.
What was leaked? On March 23, 2020, the Call of Duty YouTube channel released a video that provides a behind-the-scenes look at the Battle Royale mode “Warzone”.
But besides the details about the BR mode, it seems that something else was also revealed. Fans suspect that a new multiplayer map for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare might be activated in Season 3.
Here you see the map leak – Village for multiplayer?
This is what you see: If you watch the behind-the-scenes video, pay close attention to the monitor on the left side of the screen at the time of 1 minute and 4 seconds.
If the video is running in high resolution and you stop at the right time, you can see in the lines “mp_village2”, which seems to reference the Village map for multiplayer. Fans conclude from this information that the map will be coming to the game soon.
What kind of map is that? Some of you might remember the Village map from Modern Warfare 3. In the old title, the map is set in a village in Africa with bridges in the middle. Fans loved the map for its options for close-quarters combat as well as gameplay at long distances.
You can take a look at the old map here in the YouTube video:
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has already introduced other old fan favorites into the game.
It is unclear whether this map will actually come to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. If so, it would probably only arrive in Season 3. And whether they will bring the well-known Village map as faithfully as possible or want to build a modern remaster with new points of interest is also uncertain at this time.
Since there was a MW1 map “Crash” at the start of Season 1 and a MW2 map “Rust” at the beginning of Season 2, it would be conceivable to have a map from MW3 at the start of the new Season 3.
When does Season 3 start? So far, there are no official plans from Infinity Ward and Activision for Season 3. Unofficially, fans expect that the start of the new season would take place sometime in the second week of April. However, due to the current Corona situation, this could also be postponed.
With Season 3, new weapons will likely come into play again, and the balance might change. Until then, you can find here the best 5 weapons of Season 2 with OP setups.
Hopefully, the new map will be better than this map in CoD:MW, which even developers flee from.
