CoD MW3 failed to impress critics, wants to bring back popular game mode with Season 1

CoD: MW3 was released on November 8 and had a poor start. Many fans are disappointed with the game. However, Call of Duty aims to turn things around with new content and the return of a fan-favorite game mode in Season 1.

CoD: MW 3 has the worst start in the series. Many fans and critics are disappointed with the game, and this is also reflected on Metacritic. With 58 critics, the game has a critic score of 55. This is the lowest value of the main series. (As of: November 18, 2023)

Many fans are bothered by the few new contents of the game and the campaign also disappoints many players. But Season 1 of MW3 is supposed to be released later this year and aims to bring back the popular Gunfight 2v2 game mode alongside new content and maps.

On their own blog, Call of Duty announced a few new contents for Season 1. An exact start date is still unknown, but the season is set to start in December of this year. The announced contents are supposed to be just a small part of the upcoming changes.

For MW3, new game modes are set to appear in Season 1, and the first one is a fan favorite. Gunfight is supposed to return and offer 2v2 action again. Along with this, familiar maps are expected to return for the mode. Which ones are still unknown, but the new map Training Facility has been announced for the mode.

For the 6v6 modes, 3 new maps will be released:

• The map Meat, whose centerpiece is a large slaughterhouse in the middle of the map
• Greece is a coastal town full of Greek-inspired houses and surroundings
• Rio takes you to colorful, narrow streets and an upscale shopping mall

Meat and Greece are expected to be available at the start of the season, with Rio following later on.

The zombie mode will also receive new contents in Season 1. This includes Enter the Rift. It is expected to offer a new challenge in the endgame for those who have completed the seasonal missions. In addition to a new weapon called Friend Zone, new blueprints are also set to be added to the mode.
