Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 released the small update 1.13 on the evening of January 20th. The patch contains about 30 bug fixes and a temporary solution for a nasty exploit with the “Spotter Scope”. You can find the complete patch notes here on MeinMMO.
The current CoD situation is reminiscent of last year. Season 2 of Warzone 1 and CoD: Vanguard were postponed by 2 weeks because there were many bugs and negative feedback. At that time, CoD was in its worst state for years.
Season 2 of CoD MW2 and Warzone 2 is also taking a bit longer to arrive and has been postponed to February 15th. This year too, there are many bugs in the game and backlash from the community.
The latest update 1.13 has now delivered a first batch of bug fixes, and MeinMMO lists the complete patch notes in German.

When is the update coming? The patch is already online, you can download it anytime.
How big is the update? It’s smaller than usual. Reports indicate between 500 MB and 2.6 GB.
What’s in the update? The developers state that they continue to focus on removing causes of game crashes. However, they do not provide specifics. Additionally, the displays for the Battle Pass tokens have been adjusted.
The biggest problem that has been removed is probably the Spotter Scope exploit. This allowed players to highlight enemies in their field of view without even having the scope in hand. The scope remains in the game but currently cannot ping enemies anymore. The lookout perk remains broken and OP.
The rest are bug fixes that we list here:
- Players in the in-game chat were not consistently displayed
- Shipment playlist from Tier 1 was not displayed correctly
- If you want to view your party, you don’t fly back to the main menu
- Visual issues with the combat knife removed
- Diagonal navigation in the gunsmith fixed
- Text in the gunsmith could not always be scrolled
- Menus no longer close spontaneously
- Visual issues with operators who left the shooting range removed
- Preview display in the shop fixed
- Rare broken rainbow menus fixed
- Display error in executions removed
- Visual issues with operators who were browsing in the store removed
- Store issue removed that repeatedly triggered the purchase animation
- Display error with “Toronto Ultra” pack removed
- Melee kills should now be recorded correctly
- Broken long-range capture fixed when opponents were downed and then finished off
The next list focuses specifically on Warzone 2:
- Wins now count for the calling card challenges
- Stun mines should now correctly distribute XP
- Removed issue with Dead Silence and Battle Rage that could not be extended when a new field upgrade was purchased
- No more XP is obtained when using stims in gas
- Using the Loadout crate could completely crash the game
The next list focuses specifically on the DMZ mode:
- Fixed issues with the insured weapons
- Fixed issues with weapon slots in medium and large backpacks
- Item duplication is no longer possible
- Fixed issue at match start that displayed players as “not ready”
- Fixed issue that sometimes displayed your backpack in a dead drop
- Fixed display bug with the contraband weapons
- Fixed issue that allowed players to play beyond the intended match time
- 2 players could use supply drops that were intended for only one player

The update 1.13 came with many bug fixes but only addresses minor issues that had little impact on the overall gaming experience. The big changes will likely come on February 15th when the new season 2 begins.
