What do the beta of CoD MW 2019, Cold War, and Modern Warfare 2 have in common? Their best weapon! The submachine gun MP5 rocks the maps of the current beta and is no stranger in meta circles. However, you need a little trick to unlock it – we, from MeinMMO, provide you with a strong setup for the MP5.
Why is the MP5 so strong? The beta of Modern Warfare offers a total of 17 weapons, but only about half of them are playable in the first week. The submachine guns perform particularly well:
- Lachmann-MP
- FSS Hurricane
Both are considered very strong, deal a lot of damage to the opponent in close combat, and can also be controlled at greater distances.
The Lachmann-MP, which is actually the MP5, performs slightly better than the Hurricane. It eliminates opponents in close combat with just a few hits and hardly recoils while firing. Additionally, you are fast on your feet with strong movement values.
CoD expert “TheXclusiveAce” labels the weapon in a short video as “the best weapon” of the beta (via youtube.com) – at least in the first beta week.
However, it takes a little trick to use the weapon in the beta. We will show you the trick and provide a strong setup for it. We will embed the beta trailer here:

How do I get the MP5 in the beta? The gunsmith is somewhat bugged in the beta. Access to the Lachmann weapon platform is therefore restricted. However, you can still get it with a trick:
- Go to the “Weapons” tab
- Select a class without “Overkill”
- Select the shotgun Expedite 12 as primary weapon
- Change your perk package to one with “Overkill”
- Now you have the Lachmann-556 as secondary weapon
- Level the Lachmann-556 for a few matches (as secondary weapon with Overkill)
- Now the Lachmann-MP can be selected among the submachine guns
This is a bug. Developer Infinity Ward has confirmed that the weapons are actually part of the current beta phase (via twitter.com).
What does a strong setup look like? Currently, many setups for the Lachmann-MP5 are circulating on the internet. We show you a setup with very strong movement values and a focus on aim speed, so you can quickly get into view. But the stability is also impressive:
- Barrel: FTAC M-Sub 12″
- Laser: FJX Ultrabeam XR
- Stock: No Stock
- Underbarrel: FSS Sharkfin 90
- Magazine: 50-Round Drum
