When you work on your weapons and loadouts for Call of Duty: Warzone, you should always make sure that your gun not only deals damage well but also hits accurately. This is mainly aided by the grips in the under-barrel section. You can find the strongest ones here.
What are these attachments and what do they bring? You can find the under-barrel attachments at the gunsmith, where you can customize your weapons. Most of these attachments help you aim better by reducing or altering recoil.
As a result, they ensure that you can control the weapon better, which in turn enhances your ability to aim well. For most guns, the following attachments are available in this category:
- Commando Foregrip
- Merc Foregrip
- Ranger Foregrip
- Shooter Foregrip
Some weapons, like the M4 or certain sniper and machine guns, have additional attachments such as bipods or under-barrel grenade launchers. However, these have special functions and do not universally enhance your ability to aim.
The strongest under-barrel attachments in Warzone
The YouTuber and CoD expert TheXclusiveAce took the time to compare the attachments mentioned above. However, he only focused on the most popular assault rifles (Grau 5.56, M4A1, and M13) as well as the most popular submachine gun (MP5). He exclusively tested the under-barrel attachments and disregarded all others.
In this analysis, one attachment turned out to be generally the strongest for most weapons; however, there are some exceptions and limitations. We have included his video analysis for you here:
These are the strongest attachments: The strongest attachment for most weapons is the Shooter Foregrip, which, however, is only slightly ahead of the Merc and Ranger Foregrips. All three have a similar effect that is hardly distinguishable from each other.
When making your choice, you should pay attention to the disadvantages that each foregrip comes with and whether you want to accept them:
- The Merc Foregrip reduces movement speed while aiming and your ADS speed
- The Ranger Foregrip has the same disadvantages
- The Shooter Foregrip only reduces ADS speed and has no other advantages apart from recoil control
Which of the under-barrel grips you can best utilize depends on the other attachments. Keep in mind that all foregrips always reduce your time to aim, which many players want to avoid.
A significant exception is the M13. It is already precise enough without an under-barrel attachment that you could even do without it. With the right attachments, it can even be converted into a proper laser.
What you should pay attention to: The “best” attachments all provide recoil control and the only exception here is the Commando Foregrip, which instead grants recoil stabilization.
As we have already explained in the strongest attachments for better aiming, these are two different effects:
- Recoil control reduces the upward pull of the weapon
- Recoil stabilization reduces the “jumping” of the weapon from left to right
In principle, it is easier to compensate for upward recoil than sideways recoil. However, many weapons tend to have little sway left and right, which is why a Commando Foregrip may not be worth it.
But if you know that your weapon sways more to the sides and less strongly upwards, consider the Commando Foregrip (or entirely different under-barrel attachments, if available).
More tips for better aiming
Keep in mind that this is only about under-barrel attachments. If you want to focus entirely on better aiming, you should also consider other attachments such as the rubberized grip tape (Grip). You should build your weapon in a way that fulfills the purpose you intend for it. The attachments apply not only to Warzone but also to the Multiplayer of Modern Warfare.
If you play with a controller, for example on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, the proper adjustment of your aim assist will also help you in compensation. It is also important that you properly set your deadzone, a newer option in Call of Duty.
Generally, you should engage with your weapons and develop a feel for how they behave and what spread patterns they have. This helps you aim better than any attachment could. With the right attachments, you will only get even better.
If you want to improve your handling of weapons or warm up for a round, try out the aim training from the Warzone expert. This helps you aim more precisely at enemies and trains your muscle memory. As a result, you instinctively and faster call upon learned skills in the heat of battle and get closer to victory.
