The mid-season update for Season 5 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and CoD Warzone is here. There are numerous new contents like new modes, weapon, operator, or the Games of Summer – a special summer event.
New update is now live: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and the in-house battle royale Warzone are currently experiencing the now 5th season. And today, on August 25th, shortly after 8:00 AM German time, all platforms received a major mid-season update. We will show you what new contents await you with Season 5 Reloaded.

Season 5 Reloaded – What’s new
The Games of Summer: The Games of Summer run from August 28th to September 7th and are essentially a kind of international single-player competition that both owners of Modern Warfare and players with the free-to-play version of Warzone can participate in.
Participants must prove themselves in 5 different forms of trials (shooting and skill challenges) that go live one after the other. The aim is to achieve the best possible results.
The following trials are available:
- Gun Course
- Risky Parkour
- Marksman Challenge
- Price’s Alley
- Shooting Range
Depending on performance, participants earn medals and points that are then attributed to their country. In the end, we will see which country can boast the most passionate and best players.
Participation is free for everyone and does not require tickets, unlike previous trials. Additionally, you can win exclusive cosmetic items through the Games of Summer that you cannot get anywhere else.
New weapon: As has already been hinted at through leaks and the roadmap, the last new weapon of Season 5 will be a machine gun – specifically, the FiNN LMG. You can earn it either through an in-game challenge or by purchasing the “Mainframe” bundle in the store.
According to Activision, it is supposed to hit harder than many of its direct competitors. It is described as agile and mobile, yet should also have good recoil control and excellent precision when firing automatically.
New operator: A new Italian operator named Morte, with a cool Western look, will be introduced – but only through a new paid bundle in the store.
New in Warzone
Kingslayer mode: Kingslayer is a brand new mode for the battle royale. Essentially, it’s a large team deathmatch in confined parts of the Warzone map, where you earn points for eliminating enemies. However, the gas circle does not constrict but moves across the map, promoting more dynamic and constantly changing conditions.
New in Modern Warfare
Gunfight tournament: For the fast-paced 2vs2 gunfight mode, there will be a new tournament where you can compete against other small teams in a knockout system and earn cool cosmetics as well as additional XP.
New gunfight map: With the start of the Games of Summer on August 28th, a new gunfight map will be added to the game – Stadium. Apparently, combat will take place inside the stadium – specifically in a makeshift camp on the field.
Ground War Reinforce: The large-scale ground war mode will receive a new variation called Reinforce. Here, three flags will be positioned near the center of the map – similar to Domination.
If you or one of your teammates is eliminated, you will go to spectator mode without a direct respawn. You can re-enter the fight only once a new flag has been captured by your team. Capturing all 3 flags automatically wins you the round. If you win enough rounds, you will also win the match.
