What type of weapon is this? The submachine gun from the Season 4 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare & Warzone is based on the KRISS Vector from the American defense company KRISS USA.
The weapon comes with a distinctive design due to its special mass closure mechanism and impresses in some shooters with its high rate of fire beyond 1,000 RPM. First introduced in Modern Warfare 2 (2009) in Call of Duty, the SMG now also spreads its bullets across the battlefields in the current CoD MW with a high rate of fire. All about the Fennek – With tested setups
What do I need to consider for Fennek builds? The SMG is made for close combat and feels most comfortable there. At very short range, it can even compete with the pro weapon MP5.
However, the Fennek has a major problem that you should consider with every setup: ammunition. The 40-round magazine is a must due to its high rate of fire. Even this drum magazine is actually still too small for the hungry device.
“Dexterity” is also a good choice if you are willing to use 2 attachment slots for ammunition.
You need to compensate for the high bullet consumption with secure hits. So also plan for an attachment for recoil control. Although the weapon can be controlled well even without it, the basic variant tends to miss quite a few shots. Choose a foregrip or one of the special barrels for the submachine gun.
A SMG with special attachments
Which attachments are strong? The SMG comes with some strong attachments for range, recoil control, and speed:
- ZLR 16″ Apex – Heavy barrel for more range and recoil control
- ZLR 18″ Deadfall – Barrel with integrated monolithic silencer
- 12-round .45 hollow point magazine – 2-round burst mode with high damage
- ZLR Sabre – Silencer for range, with recoil control
- Textured grip tape: Slightly stronger than usual and saves 2 frames at “ADS speed” and “sprint-to-fire speed”
The Deadfall barrel is particularly exciting because it already has a monolithic silencer built in, one of the strongest attachments we recommend for almost every weapon. With the Deadfall, your range increases by 35%.
However, the monolithic recommendation does not apply to the Fennek, as it comes with its own and better silencer, the ZLR Sabre. This increases the range by 20%, and together with the Apex barrel, you increase your range by nearly 40%. The first damage reduction occurs only after about 15 meters, instead of at 11 meters.
Also strong is the “Textured grip tape”, which is better for the Fennek than usual. During your aim down sights time, it saves you 2 frames, instead of just 1 frame, as is typically the case. The same applies to the “sprint-to-fire speed”.
In a completely different territory are the hollow point bullets of the weapon. Similar to the Striker 45, you get here 12 rounds in the magazine that distribute high damage via 2-round bursts. A really strong attachment that can lower the TTK in multiplayer to an unfair 34 ms. However, you must hit at least one burst bullet as a headshot at close range.
The base stats of the Fennek – Comparison with MP5
What do the values look like? To give you an impression of the strength of this close combat monster, here are some base values compared with the strongest submachine gun – the MP5:

In terms of base values, the Fennek comes very close to the MP5. In Warzone, the new rapid-fire even performs better and beats the strongest SMG at any range – at least from a numbers perspective.
The control of the Fennek at greater distances is a different story, but it outperforms the MP5 in close quarters combat in Warzone.
Fennek setup for unfair close fights – Stylerz

What kind of setup is this? This setup is recommended by the YouTuber “Stylerz” who has been producing German CoD content for several years and regularly posts analyses of his setups and weapons in Warzone on his channel.
In his YT video about the Fennek, he shows the punch of the SMG at close range and recommends using attachments to showcase the strengths of the weapon even further. For this, he almost entirely forgoes attachments that increase the ADS time. He only takes the Deadfall barrel with the integrated silencer, but focuses entirely on close combat:
- 1mW laser for better hip fire
- Drum magazine and dexterity for more bullets
- No stock, so it aims faster

What are the strengths? With this configuration, you have a strong Run&Gun weapon for multiplayer that mows down everything at short range. It can easily compete with the MP5 and is likely to be used just to play something different.
In Warzone, you get an optimal weapon for indoor combat. Go into a contested house with the confident feeling that you have the best weapon for fast-paced battles in your hands and clear it out. In a 1vs1 situation, only explosives, shotguns, and your own aiming can stand in your way. For the latter, there are good training methods.
What should I consider? The weapon is really only suitable for close combat with this setup. “Stylerz” plays the attachment combo in Warzone together with an assault rifle, for example the Grau 5.56. He wouldn’t take along a sniper rifle, as he wouldn’t have a suitable weapon for medium range.
Something similar applies to multiplayer. The weapon is quite limited in its area of use, but very strong.
Balanced Fennek setup – JGOD

What kind of setup is this? This setup comes from YouTuber “JGOD”, who uploads gameplay and tips for Modern Warfare and Warzone daily. In his English video, he analyzed the Fennek and its stats, and much of the information in this article is based on his findings.
To create his setup, he looked closely at the costs and benefits of different attachments and sought a compromise between good control and mobility.

What are the strengths? Again, it’s best in close combat. Although this configuration provides a bit more control, the quick Fennek still works best at close range.
The sturdy grip gives you an enjoyable aim down sights time, and with the Merc foregrip, recoil becomes significantly more manageable. A good submachine gun for use in combat at the shortest distances, in Warzone and multiplayer.
What should I consider? If you play the weapon in a Run&Gun style in multiplayer, you should take “Overkill” and a second primary weapon for larger maps, like the M4A1. In Warzone, you also need a second weapon for range.
Because anything beyond 20 – 25 meters gets a bit tricky, although good hits are still possible here. However, because the weapon with the Deadfall barrel drops into its weakest damage value after 30 meters, you need a lot of bullets before the target falls:

- Multiplayer: 7 bullets
- Warzone (3 plates): 17 bullets
So always make sure you have an alternative for range if needed. Otherwise, things can get uncomfortable quickly.

What kind of setup is this? The third setup comes from “FOG of Gaming”. A YouTube channel that provides tips and analyses for weapons from various shooters – from PUBG to Battlefield and currently CoD Warzone.
In an English YouTube video, he showcased the stats of the Fennek and recommends a setup for the SMG that allows you to benefit from the low TTK of the weapon in Warzone and significantly increases the range.

What are the strengths? Thanks to the strong attachments for better aiming, the weapon gets slightly controllable recoil and you can easily keep the sights on the opponent. A small sight gives you an extra kick of accuracy but is not necessary.
The special Fennek attachments “ZLR Sabre” and “ZLR 16″ Apex” allow the SMG to deal full damage up to about 15 meters.
What should I consider? Due to the full focus on range, the weapon’s mobility suffers. If you can manage without a sight, you should forgo it. Instead, take the strong “Textured grip tape” or the stock “FORGE TAC close combat sight”. This way, the weapon becomes more responsive while still being controllable.
The Fennek consumes a lot of ammunition, which can sometimes be stressful in Warzone. Keep an eye on your SMG ammunition when you are marauding through “Storage Town” with your trio. Here are some tips on how to outfit yourself as a trio.
Strengths and weaknesses of the Fennek
With the Fennek, you get a powerful submachine gun that deals a lot of damage with its high rate of fire and takes out enemies in no time – in Warzone and multiplayer.
If you know and utilize the strengths of the SMG, very little can stop you – except for the ammunition pool. While leveling in multiplayer, you can at least increase your ammunition reserve with a little trick. Take the pistol “X16” as your secondary weapon and equip the perk “Fully Loaded” on your primary weapon. This way, you also have full ammunition for the Fennek.
