The “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare” update 1.13 brought players a few desired bug fixes, a new weapon, but also a big error. If you’re not careful, you might lose part of your multiplayer progress. But there is a solution to the problem.
What is this error? After the Modern Warfare update 1.13, many players received a message that their update was downloaded incorrectly or the data is corrupt.
To fix the problem, a pop-up message suggests deleting all multiplayer progress. However, you don’t have to do that; apparently, there is a simple solution for the error.

How to solve the problem? Do not select either of the two points, do not press “Yes” or “No”. One of the representatives from Infinity Ward responded in the thread on reddit with the following advice:
[…] we are currently working on the problem […] Please do not select either option, please close the application. […]

So just exit the game, close it completely.
Also on Twitter, community manager Ashton Williams regularly provided updates about the work on the error. Players experiencing the issue should restart Modern Warfare and check if the error persists.
By the way: In a reported message from Infinity Ward, the developers explain that your ranks should be safe from deletion and skins or the battle pass should remain at the same level. However, MP statistics and loadouts might be lost.
What if the problem is still not resolved? However, there seem to be cases where the error is a bit more stubborn. Here are a few options for you:
- Contact Ashton Williams on Twitter – Leave your Activision ID and a screenshot of the error.
- Be patient – According to the developers, the error will be completely fixed soon.
- Press the red button – If you click “Yes”, you will lose your statistics and loadouts, but your rank and unlockables will still be available.

There is also a new mode, “Capture the Flag” is coming to Modern Warfare 2019 for the first time. While some players are wishing for it now, there are no crazy fire skins.
