When can you play Infected exactly? Infected is a time-limited mode. You can play it from December 10 to December 18, which many fans feel is too short. Whether or when Infected will return afterward is currently unknown.
How Infected works: Specific Modern Warfare nuances for the Infected mode are not yet known, but the mode generally works as follows:
One player starts as the Infected – basically, Patient Zero. The rest start as Survivors.
The Infected must hunt and eliminate the Survivors armed only with a knife. An Infected has increased mobility and is therefore faster than the Survivors. If he catches a player, that player also becomes infected and continues to play on the side of the Infected.
For the Survivors, the goal is to kill the Infected, hide from him, and survive until the round time runs out. If one of them is alive at the end, they win the round. If all Survivors are caught, they lose the round.
The Survivors also have weapons available to them, but usually only for close range.
New Content Coming to Modern Warfare Today
In addition to Infected, another mode has been added to the game, namely the OSP mode for the Gunfight format. This currently replaces the regular Gunfight. New item bundles for the shop have also been introduced.
What’s in the OSP mode: OSP stands for On Site Procurement and is a slight variation of the 2vs2 Gunfight mode. However, OSP brings a new twist – players start without a predefined loadout and gather equipment throughout the match.
By the way: This mode is also only available for a limited time from December 10 to December 18.
Here are the new bundles: The shop received 2 new featured packages that include a collection of cosmetic items such as operator skins, calling cards, emblems, alternative finishing moves, or watches.
