For a while, there have been rumors that Black Ops Cold War will get a new Zombie mode. The mode is supposed to be directly connected with Call of Duty: Warzone. Now there has been an accidental confirmation on the official website.
What happened? User TheGamingRevolution shared a screenshot on Twitter from the official Call of Duty website. There was a brief hint of the new Outbreak mode visible.
It showed the text “Welcome to Outbreak – A new, large-scale Zombie experience.” A trailer is also supposed to exist, although it was not accessible.
This hint has since been taken offline. Currently, it is speculated that the mode will be released with the upcoming Season 2.
What’s behind it? With a playlist update on February 11, new content was introduced to the game, which has already hinted at a joint Zombie event between Cold War and Warzone:
- In the Mega Team Deathmatch “Warzone Rumble”, soldiers found a mysterious machine at the spot “Hospital”. This is a challenge terminal from the Zombie mode of Cold War.
- In Warzone, there have also been mysterious events since the playlist update. Players randomly experience a screen flicker while moving around the map.
Additionally, the CoD files in a leak have already found the text “Fight against the Zombie horde in Warzone and Outbreak, the brand new Black Ops Cold War Zombies mode”.
What should Outbreak offer? According to leaks, the “Outbreak” mode is supposed to take place on the large fireteam maps. It is said to be a PvE mode where you hunt Zombies and complete certain objectives.
There are even speculations that Outbreak will appear as a new open-world map for Warzone.
