For the beta of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, system requirements for PC are now available. How powerful do the processor and graphics card need to be, and how much space do you need on the SSD?
When does the beta start? For PC players who pre-ordered, the first open beta for Cold War begins on October 15. For non-pre-order customers, it starts on October 17. The test phase runs until October 19. If you also have a PS4 at home, you can play the Cold War beta starting October 8.
You still have a few days to get your gaming PC in shape. Because now it is known how powerful the system should be to run the game efficiently.
What do you need? If you play on the lowest settings, meaning you lower the graphics significantly, an “Intel Core i5 2500k” processor or a comparable piece of AMD hardware will suffice. It has been around for several years since its release, but it still manages to handle the latest installment of the CoD series.
The developers recommend at least a GTX 670 or GTX 1650 from Nvidia as a graphics card. If AMD powers the graphics in your computer, then for the minimum requirements, a Radeon HD 7950 is already enough.

Then you can play: If you are among the players who pre-ordered CoD Black Ops Cold War, then you will receive early access to the beta with this order.
- From October 15 to 16, pre-order customers on PC can play the beta of Cold War
If you did not pre-order it on PC, you can look forward to the open beta. Then all players on PC, PS4, and Xbox One are allowed to participate.
- From October 17 to 19, the open beta of Cold War will run, also on PC
