Important: Only buyers or pre-orderers of the digital versions of CoD Cold War will benefit from the preload – with one exception. More on that shortly. You can find more details about the different editions of CoD Cold War and the preorder options here.
Additionally, the indicated download size for each platform refers to the full game. However, you can make Cold War smaller by installing only the modules/packages that you really need.

Preload without purchase (for disc version): Buyers of the disc version on Xbox might still have a way to preload CoD Cold War.
Reports suggest that it might be possible to download games from the MS Store to the console via the Xbox app, even if you did not purchase them digitally. Therefore, disc players may have the option to preload a game in advance and then insert the disc when it arrives and start playing immediately.
Regardless of whether you buy the disc or the digital version – the game should be ready at launch. It is assumed that this feature will be activated at the launch of the Xbox Series X and S on November 10. However, there are no official sources on this. A user already demonstrated this possibility in September.
