In a few days, Season 1 of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will begin. However, the launch has been postponed, and players will have to wait a few more days. By the way, the associated tweet includes a teaser for Rebirth Island, a new Warzone map, embedded.
That was the plan: Originally, the first joint season of the new CoD Black Ops Cold War and CoD Warzone was supposed to start on December 10. The integration of Cold War into Warzone was also supposed to be completely finalized on the 10th. However, as Call of Duty announced on its official Twitter account, everything has now been postponed by a few days.
Black Ops Cold War – Season 1 delayed
When does Season 1 of Black Ops Cold War start now? The new start date for Season 1 of CoD Cold War is December 16. The launch has been delayed by 6 days, so players won’t have to wait too long.
The new content is planned to be prepared and introduced through several updates: on the 8th, 15th, and 16th of December.
CoD Cold War teases Rebirth Island
What Call of Duty has revealed: When announcing the delay, Call of Duty and Treyarch teased an exciting detail. This was hinting in the image from the tweet. On the black background, there is blurry text visible. When you brighten it up a bit, you can see that it states “Rebirth Island” along with coordinates.
This essentially confirms many leaks from the past weeks and apparently teases a new map for Warzone. Because if you enter the coordinates in Google Maps, you land on the real “Rebirth Island” in Uzbekistan.
Hints about this “new Warzone experience” were already provided in the official roadmap for Season 1, and in recent days, the hints for a new Warzone map with this name have intensified.
According to leaks, “Rebirth Island” is a revised version of the Blackout map “Alcatraz” from the Battle Royale of Black Ops 4. Rebirth Island is said to be slightly larger than the original, but smaller than the current Warzone map “Verdansk”.

Raid returns: By the way, Treyarch has also confirmed via Twitter the return of the popular classic map “Raid” from Black Ops 2 for traditional multiplayer. There, battles took place on the grounds of a luxury estate.
