What are wonder weapons? These refer to special anti-zombie firearms in the Zombie mode of Call of Duty. They usually have a stronger effect than normal weapons and are not part of multiplayer. In Black Ops Cold War, 3 wonder weapons have been sighted so far:
- Ray Gun – A pistol that resembles an “old” alien blaster
- T.O.T. Machine – Nasty device that can suck in zombies
- RAI K-84 – Single-shot killer for crafting on Firebase Z
In the Outbreak mode, which was introduced with the start of Season 2, you can also benefit from the power of these crazy weapons. So far, there are 4 known ways to obtain the wonder weapons, and MeinMMO shows you what they are.
How to grab wonder weapons in Outbreak mode
What are the 4 possibilities? If you start a regular Zombie match on “Die Maschine” or “Firebase Z”, there are specific ways to get the strong zombie killers. In Outbreak mode, it is not quite so predictable – you have to hope for your luck. You get the wonder weapons by:
- Loot crates
- Challenges
- Mystery boxes
- Boss drops
Loot crates – There are three different sizes of loot crates on the map that you can find everywhere. By completing small Easter eggs or tasks, you also receive loot crates. The crates can contain essence, scrap, and equipment. But they also like to spit out weapons, and the wonder weapons can be among them.
Challenges – On every map where you land in Outbreak mode, you will find a “Trials” machine. There you can start a challenge for a bit of essence, and the better you perform, the better rewards you can snag. Tasks like “Kill zombies with equipment” or “Eliminate enemies up close” will start. If you perform well, the machine will grant you a lot of loot, and a wonder weapon can be among them.
Mystery Box – Another source for the zombie killers are the mystery boxes. In exchange for essence, you get a random weapon from the box. The rarity of the weapons also varies – the higher your round number, the better the random guns will be. The wonder weapons are part of the mystery pool and can be drawn from it with a bit of luck.
Boss Drops – Lastly, you have chances for the weapons with your boss kills. The super zombies drop loot when you take them down, and one or another might also carry one of the crazy wonder weapons.
You can then upgrade the wonder weapons at the Pack-a-Punch machines found on every map to anti-zombie super weapons. This way, they become the best guns in the fight against the stinking hordes of zombies.
