Call of Duty has always had problems with a fraction of players: the cheaters. They cheat and ruin honest fans’ enjoyment of the game, even in Black Ops 7. The anti-cheat could only provide limited help. Now, a new method is set to put an end to the cheats.
What is Black Ops 7 struggling with? Cheaters, and they are cunning when it comes to their methods. In addition to the usual software cheaters who use wallhacks or aimbots, there are also hardware cheaters. While the former is usually detected sooner or later, hardware cheats are harder to track.
Often, cheats run around with these devices, firing without recoil or even manipulating weapon fire modes. Activision has watched this spectacle long enough and has promised improvements since the release of Season 2.
Anti-Cheat now analyzes more than just your hardware
What will change? From now on, the anti-cheat system of Call of Duty should be able to detect hardware cheats like Cronus Zen and XIM Matrix. The team clarifies that such hardware is difficult to track, which is why the anti-cheat system will analyze your gameplay behavior.
This includes your movement, aim behavior, and firing activity. Based on these parameters, a profile will be created to check whether you are cheating or playing honestly. If the former is true, you will be banned. Since cheats and their creators are constantly evolving, the fight against them resembles a relay race.
Initially, there will be successes in catching these cheaters, but over time, the system will need to evolve to remain successful – as explained by Activision.
What do fans say about the new method? The opinions on Reddit are divided. On one hand, fans are happy that there are advancements. On the other hand, there are players who have no hope that Call of Duty will ever be cheat-free. Here’s what can be heard:

It remains to be seen how well the anti-cheat operates this time and whether more cheaters will be banned.
