CoD MW2: Release – Multiplayer start, time and download
When does the multiplayer of Modern Warfare 2 start? MW2 is completely online. After minor server issues, it is mostly running smoothly after release.
How large is the download? The version for PS5 is the smallest at release with about 63 GB, while the one on PC is the largest with about 72 GB. However, due to an update before release, these numbers could still increase.
You can save storage space if you only download certain parts of the game. On PlayStation, you save about 20 GB if you do not download the campaign. Here you can find more details about the download.
CoD MW2: Content – Campaign, Multiplayer & Spec-Ops
Campaign: The story campaign of MW2 went online on October 20. Digital pre-orderers got early access. Therefore, there is already a lot of information about the story – you can find reactions here:
Multiplayer: Here you get the usual multiplayer package with many different modes, maps, over 50 weapons, and many options for your loadouts.
What is already known about the release content, we collect here for you:
Spec-Ops: The co-op mode of CoD MW2 returns to its roots and offers a duo experience. Together with a partner, you solve missions under time pressure or must survive as long as possible.

CoD MW2: Season 1 – Warzone 2.0 & Raids
What happens after release? The first two weeks run a “pre-season” in MW2 without a battle pass. The battle pass goes online with season 1. The date for the mid-season is already known:

Season 1: Together with the first season, the new Warzone 2.0 goes online. More information about the new battle royale can be found here. There will also be fresh content for the multiplayer mode (maps, modes, weapons), the first battle pass, and new missions for the Spec-Ops mode.
Mid-Season 1: As another highlight, PvE raids will be introduced. In 3-player teams, you will need to defeat enemies, solve puzzles, and continue the story of MW2.
