CoD: 2020 Easter egg hunt – PawnTakesPawn.tv shows more and more teasers
With the discovery of the website, the next stage of the Easter egg began. However, the decoding specialists in the community had to be patient because the site offered no clues at first glance on how to proceed. However, it did show when. The video recorder alternated showing “08-14” and “12:00” and players concluded that it would continue here on August 14 at 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM German time.
On August 12, the television received a small update. Suddenly, a note was stuck to the old tube with the caption “TANGLEDWEB”. This led to a further page – “pawntakespawn.com/tangledweb”. Here, a document can be found with some philosophically sounding lines. However, this has not yet helped in solving the riddle.
On August 14, things continued. A VHS tape appeared on the video recorder that could be started by pressing a button. The video shows many minutes of edited clips from the Cold War era, intermittently interrupted by numbers that appear between clips. Additionally, new numbers also blinked on the video recorder. The numbers were updated with each new video, and we have listed the final numbers here:

The puzzlers then recognized that the numbers on the recorder refer to coordinates in the Warzone. The sector “H6” lies in the “Farmland” of the Warzone. Here, in a barn, a newly activated keypad was found that could be opened with the code behind the coordinates:
In the room, there are a lot of strange papers and even more encrypted information. These so-called “Ciphers” were not new to some attentive CoD players. Some time ago, soldiers had “glitched” into some of the rooms, so the papers were not particularly exciting at first.
In addition to the video, on August 14, the note “EMC2” appeared on the post-it, which had previously led to a website of the TV homepage. On “pawntakespawn.com/emc2,” a note was visible that showed the date August 14 and the caption of the first video. However, 5 lines were crossed out. After a while, suddenly the second line was half visible and indicated August 15.
The next day, the next video appeared. Again, there were digits within the video and coordinates on the recorder.

In plan square B5 of the Warzone, there are some bunkers and one of them can be reopened with the code. Here, once again, some “Ciphers” were found. A video from August 15 shows the bunker when the second video went online. You could hardly move; so many snoopers were around:
On August 16, the same situation occurred. A new video appeared, showing numbers and the recorder’s coordinates:

This time, the coordinates led to a small enclosure near Prison. Here, players had already been inside and showcased the remarkable items within. Here, parts of an “RC-XD” were on display, an exploding mini-car that is especially known as a killstreak in the “Black Ops” series.
The next day, as expected, the next video arrived featuring the following numbers:

This time, it led to a bunker located in the southwest of the Warzone map, quite near the kart racing track. Here too, “Ciphers” documents were found along with the other half of the RC cars from the previous day.
On August 18, the penultimate day on the EMC2 list, the same game again occurred. A new video appeared, showcasing new numbers and coordinates:

Here, a bunker can again be found at the coordinates. Inside, an atomic rocket similar to the rocket that was found earlier was discovered. Last time, a player has glitched into Bunker 10.
Along with the new video, an additional note was added – 11THHOUR. This leads to another website that connects the videos with the found “Ciphers.” Additionally, a new number appeared on the phone next to the old television. When you call there, a voice recites letters in the phonetic NATO alphabet:

Update August 19: The big riddle was solved, and in the end, the first official trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops – Cold War was actually found. After several hours of puzzling, the content creators found the solution word: “playthegamefindthetruth.” This again led to a website of the “pawntakespawn” site and from there to a private video of the official “Call of Duty” account on YouTube.
The CoD YouTuber “NoahJ456” found the solution with his crew after more than 5 hours of puzzling. Check out his video about the big cipher riddle here:
It is now finally clear: The next CoD is called “Call of Duty: Black Ops – Cold War” and will be unveiled worldwide on August 26.
