Activision, the publisher of the “Call of Duty” franchise, has now narrowed down the timeframe in which fans can expect an announcement for the new Call of Duty 2019. Will it happen at E3 2019?
Recently, Activision held their Earnings Call, a financial report for investors, for the first quarter of 2019. Besides balance sheets, figures, and more info on the performance of the product range.
There was also a note about when the new, officially still unnamed Call of Duty 2019 can be expected to be revealed.
This is what Activision says about the reveal of Call of Duty 2019: After the first select players got to play the new Call of Duty 2019, many fans are now eagerly awaiting the announcement of the next Call of Duty installment. Now there is finally a first official statement.
As Activision announced in the first Earnings Call of 2019, the new title will be announced soon. More specifically, it was stated that Call of Duty 2019 is expected to be revealed later in the second quarter of 2019. Specifically, that means: in a timeframe from now until June 30. Then the second quarter officially ends. The game is slated for release traditionally in the fourth quarter of 2019, according to the publisher.
Thus, Call of Duty 2019 is likely to continue the trend for this reveal timeframe for new franchise titles. New series entries have typically been revealed in April or May of a year in recent years. Fans probably won’t have to wait until the end of June, as long as Activision sticks to its previous pattern.
So, besides an own reveal event like Black Ops 4, which took place on May 17, 2018, an announcement at this year’s E3 event in early June between the 11th and the 14th is also conceivable.
Update May 6: Recently, it was confirmed that Infinity Ward, the studio responsible for Call of Duty 2019, will indeed be present with Call of Duty at the E3 2019 Game Fair in Los Angeles. A reveal there is therefore quite likely.
What is known so far about the new Call of Duty 2019? Officially not really much. In February, Rob Kostich, the president of Activision, revealed some brief details:
- Call of Duty 2019 is said to offer a completely new campaign. Thus, single-player fans should also find their enjoyment.
- There is expected to be a massive and expandable multiplayer world
- The game is also expected to offer fun coop gameplay.
There are increasingly strong indications that the new Call of Duty could be a Modern Warfare 4. More about this can be found here:
- Call of Duty 2019 is likely Modern Warfare 4 with a massive multiplayer world
- No Battle Royale and Zombies – That’s what rumors say about Call of Duty 2019
Currently, things are heating up in the current Call of Duty title Black Ops 4:
