You told us how much money you would be willing to invest in a graphics card in 2022. And you are ready to spend a lot of money on new hardware.MeinMMO presents the results.
Anyone looking to buy a graphics card currently is not having an easy time. While it is difficult to buy a graphics card for a fair price, it is significantly easier, to spend thousands of euros on eBay for an RTX 3080.
Therefore, MeinMMO wanted to know from its users, how much money they are willing to spend at maximum on a graphics card. In our survey, you voted diligently and also commented on where your pain threshold lies.
How was the voting done? Until January 18, 2022, a total of 1802 people participated in the survey. Each participant could cast one vote.
The majority does not want to spend more than 800 euros on a graphics card
This is how the voting went: The majority of you (75.14%) told us that you do not want to spend more than 800 euros on a graphics card. That means a total of 1354 participants out of 1802 people. What is especially interesting here is that at this time, there are hardly any graphics cards available for under 800 euros.
Only one-fifth of all participants (21%) are also willing to spend 1000 euros or more on a graphics card.

This is what our readers think: Some of our readers also commented on the survey, and the reactions vary widely. Many users are indeed willing to invest money but do not want to pay the current prices for graphics cards.
- For example, our user Luripu says: ‘My limit is at 550 €, but certainly not for a 3060. As long as the moon prices remain, I will not buy at all. Mine is only 2 years old. I can wait.’
- And user Desten96 comments: ‘With the prices, I stick with my Gtx1070ti even though it annoys me massively. By the end of this year or so, as soon as you can buy GRAPHICS CARDS normally, I’ll build myself a new PC, but 2000 euros for a new graphics card is out of the question. I don’t earn like a millionaire either.’
A third explains even that he does not want to buy any more hardware for gaming. With cloud gaming, he does not need it anymore. Thus, jolux writes on MeinMMO:
Nothing at all. And never again. The times for expensive gaming hardware are over for me. I used to regularly spend thousands of euros on new hardware. That is simply no longer necessary. Cloud gaming is the future. And for me, it has been the present for almost 2 years now […].

MeinMMO readers are willing to spend more money on a graphics card than in 2021
How does it compare to 2021? Also in 2021, we at MeinMMO asked our readers, how much money they want to spend on a graphics card.
Here, more than half of all participants (51%) wanted to spend between 500 and 800 euros on a new graphics card. Comparing this with the numbers from 2022, it becomes clear that people are willing to spend more money. If we sum up all participants in 2022 between 500 and 800 euros, we get 55%.
Compared to 2021, the willingness to invest more money has generally increased. In 2021, it was still 15% of users who wanted to spend 1000 euros or more on a graphics card, while in 2022 it is already 21%.
However, nothing has changed in users’ disappointment about the high prices. Many users continue to hope that prices will finally stabilize again.
