In Destiny 2, the exotic bow “Wishender” has become increasingly popular over the past few weeks. After its adjustments in Season 18, it has turned into a true monster in combat. However, clever Guardians have discovered that you can inflict even more damage with it. So much that anti-barrier champions melt away like butter even solo.
The exotic bow “Wishender” is on its way to becoming the new Arbalest. Bungie revamped the bow in Season 18 to make it more interesting. Following that, Guardians have retrieved the noble piece from their vaults after almost 4 years or earned it in the dungeon “The Broken Throne”.
However, they have noticed that with the adjustments to the exotic bow, an old damage bug seems to have returned. MeinMMO shows you what Guardians have since discovered.
Old Exotic Bug Causes Champions to Melt
What have Guardians discovered? After many Guardians started using the bow, they found that in a specific exotic combination, the bow deals much more damage than it should.
- The perk “Broadhead” causes the Wishender to inflict damage both on entry and exit.
- If you currently combine Wishender with the Titan Exotic “Citans Bollwerk”, the exotic bow can now penetrate an opponent up to five times and deal damage.
- Players can thus score 3 normal hits without a barricade, and with a barricade, they get 2 additional hits counted by the game – resulting in 5 damage numbers on opponents.

In our tests, we managed to inflict up to 80% more damage on various bosses as Titan with the two Exotics “Wishender” and “Citans Bollwerk” in Lost Sectors.
This specific problem with the exotic bow isn’t new: In December 2019, this was already a bug with the exotic bow. Instead of dealing damage to opponents only twice (on entry and exit), it dealt up to four or even five times. This led to damage being tripled, sometimes almost quadrupled.
This very bug seems to have returned in 2022, after the adjustments to Wishender, providing Guardians with an obviously unintended and strong damage increase in addition to the optimization the bow received in Season 18.
The bow now deals more damage than the current anti-barrier favorite “Arbalest” and also has unlimited ammunition available.
However, the damage increase appears to work only in PvE. In PvP, the effect does not seem applicable to Guardians.
Solo players should take advantage of the combo quickly: Especially for solo players, the bow is a practical tool now, as anti-barrier champions melt away with the Wishender, making some activities easier for them.
When will this be fixed? Currently, it is still unknown when Bungie will fix this bug. So far, the developer has not commented on it.
However, you should assume that Bungie will likely correct the bug quickly. Either by disabling the exotic bow or, which is more likely, by disabling the Titan Exotic “Citans Bollwerk”.
