On Tuesday evening, October 29, the second episode of the Borderlands Show took place. Among other things, the Maliwan Takedown Update for Borderlands 3 was presented. When it starts, you can find out here!
This is the Borderlands Show: The Borderlands Show is a monthly stream from Gearbox where major announcements for Borderlands are packaged.
In the first episode, for example, the current Halloween event was extensively presented. And this month, there were a few interesting insights as well. The most exciting announcement was related to the Maliwan Takedown Update.
Maliwan Takedown – Start and Info
When does Maliwan Takedown start? Maliwan Takedown will start on November 21. The update will be available for free, just like Bloody Harvest. Maliwan Takedown will not be an event, but a content update that runs without time limitation.
What is Maliwan Takedown? “Takedowns” will be a new type of repeatable content designed to present you with new challenges. The first takedown targets the manufacturer Maliwan. In the Borderlands Show, Randy Varnell from Gearbox explained that the NPC Lorelei will send you on the mission to take down a Maliwan base.
What is special about Maliwan Takedown: Maliwan Takedown is specifically designed for you to team up with four players at level 50. It will be really difficult. You could also try it alone – but then you have to be prepared to struggle. The takedown will be available as soon as you complete the story for the first time. It will thus become a new challenge for the endgame.
What else does Maliwan Takedown bring? The new Maliwan base represents a fresh map that you could not visit before. Additionally, there are other contents, such as:
- New mini-bosses and a new boss
- New enemy types, including:
- The Maliwan Shield Trooper, who absorbs elemental damage.
- The Maliwan Stealth Trooper, who can become invisible.
- Specific loot that is only available in the takedown.
- New shields that will be among the best in the game at launch.
- New skins, heads, and a new trophy
Currently, players can enjoy bonuses from an event that has actually ended:
