Overwatch thrives on its community. To keep it that way, Blizzard is taking strict action against cheaters and disruptors. In China, troublemakers have now been denied access.
Those who troll are banned! Blizzard takes action
“This is my team‘s fault, so I don‘t care” and “You play my main poorly, so I keep jumping off the map.” are phrases that you unfortunately read too often in Overwatch. Blizzard has now shown in China that they impose harsh penalties for such behavior.

Several hundred players have now been banned as a result of a massive ban wave in recent days. The reason: Massive trolling, bad behavior, willful sabotage of the game.
Blizzard names the troublemakers
As if that wasn’t enough, the publisher has decided to take it a step further. A list with the names of all players banned for these offenses can be found in official blue posts on the Chinese Overwatch forum.
Blizzard is making a clear stand against reprehensible behavior and cheating in Overwatch. Since the start of the game, almost half a million accounts have already been suspended – most of them through reports from other players.

Stricter penalties for ranked play
In September, Blizzard began permanently banning players for unfair play in competitive matches. Any player who has been banned more than three times in a season risks being permanently banned. Once that happens, there is no way to unlock the account again.
The report system is still in development according to Jeff Kaplan, but it is already functioning quite well and should continue to be used. Only by doing so can it be improved and disruptive players be removed.
