Blade and Soul is getting a new class in Korea soon. The 13th hero type has already been briefly shown, and now there’s a stylish CGI trailer and more information about the skills and playable races.
What kind of class is this? In Korea, the new class is called “천도사”. Translations like “Thunderer” or “Sky Seer” often come up in English. So, it’s a class that makes use of the powers of the heavens.
What can the new class do? The “Thunderer” is a damage-dealing class. Like the Zen Archer, it operates at range. Its specialization, however, is clearly area damage. You will be able to clear adds well with the new class. This is its specialty and unique selling point.
Additionally, there are two specializations:
- Galaxy: Here, you can warp space and thus completely disappear from the world for 3 seconds. After that, you reappear and unleash AoE damage.
- Sky: Here, you see the actions from the first teaser trailer. You throw lightning and use winds to zip quickly across the battlefield. Additionally, you can buff teammates.
Which races can play the new class? In the first teaser for the new class, a Yun was seen as a race. However, in the current CGI cinematic, a fluffy Lyn can be seen instead. Fans are now concerned because they would like a bit more choice and fear that the class will become Lyn-exclusive. However, it’s possible that both races will be selectable.
When does the new class come out? In South Korea, the new class will already be released on June 24, 2020. Unfortunately, a release date for the western version has not yet been set.
