When will the pretty MMORPG Black Desert be released in Europe and the USA? The community manager responsible for the western version has now commented on this – a little.
Black Desert looks incredibly good. Many MMORPG fans would love to dive right into the atmospheric fantasy world, but developer Pearl Abyss has only vaguely commented on when we can finally embark on adventures here. An interview brings hope. The website black-desert.com recently conducted an interview with the community manager responsible for the western market.
The English version is expected to enter its first testing phase later this year!
The community manager Oli explains that they are currently moving into offices in Europe and have already received the European server for the game. Right now, they are still in the localization process and are in the process of setting up a teaser website for the MMO. The English version should be playable later this year. However, it was not revealed whether this will be an alpha or beta. Before the alpha, they also want to conduct an initial early test.

The release of the EU and US versions will also take place almost simultaneously. For the European version, additional languages are planned alongside English. There is already a first playable version in English, but some texts are still missing and the translation is not fully optimized yet. This is expected to change by the first test. By then, they aim to have the English version of Black Desert completely translated. They are focusing on high quality.
Changes yes or no?
The community manager Oli could not comment on any changes compared to the Korean version; a few months ago, it was suggested that the Western version might be more challenging. He pointed out that they are closely monitoring European players who play the Korean version and take their feedback very seriously. He also announced that the developers are currently considering supporting the DirectX-12 interface and virtual reality headsets. However, there are no concrete details on this yet.
The release of the MMORPG Black Desert in Europe and the USA is thus slowly but surely taking concrete shape, as was already hinted at by a new branch in Amsterdam . A release in the West is scheduled for early 2016.
