In Black Desert , an unfortunate regulation is causing complaints.
Up until the first head start, players could buy one of three pre-order packages over the last few months, granting them the right to play Black Desert earlier, at one of three possible head start dates.
For the first head start, publisher Daum then said: Okay, that’s over now. We will continue to offer the packages, but without the head start bonus. What you are buying now are no longer pre-order packages, but regular game packages. Those who buy them now can only start at the release, on March 3rd.
However, because the packages cost the same and are structured the same, some players jumped in without looking closely. They felt misled when they realized: I can’t start yet.

As is often the case on the internet, this escalated and a controversy has arisen. A corresponding Reddit thread currently has 717 comments. The publisher is accused of malicious intent. Meanwhile, defenders say: Your own fault, pay more attention when you buy something.
What players are particularly upset about is a regulation that the purchase price will not be refunded if the game is downloaded and/or if the game client is started during the closed beta or at release.
