In Dune: Awakening you can meet your end in various ways. However, you should really avoid one scenario. And not just because they can eat you.
What defeat is that? There are several ways to die in Dune: Awakening. Of course, none of them are pleasant, but one stands out in particular: death by sandworms.
The monsters roam beneath the sand and hear your footsteps as soon as you step on it. If you are too loud, they will burrow up to you and swallow you.

Why is dying by sandworms worse? If a sandworm swallows you, you must respawn, but you will have empty pockets. This is because dying by a sandworm differs in terms of your belongings.
If you die to a sandworm, all your inventory is gone and you have no way to get your items back; there is no spawn point for your remaining inventory or even a part of it. This also includes your armor, your weapons, and other equipment.
If you are killed in another scenario in a PvE fight, you drop some of your items and can retrieve them later. If you are in a fight against other players and die, you also lose items that can be looted by other players.
In these two scenarios, while you lose your items, you can still keep your equipment, even if it loses some of its durability. By the way, if you are in a vehicle and get eaten by a worm, your means of transportation is also gone.
The only thing you get from dying by a sandworm: a worm tooth, which you can use to craft a knife.
