There was another major leak regarding Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. This time, however, it was not dataminers, but players from the “National Football League” (NFL) who posted images from the game on social media. Among other things, there was confirmation of the mysterious DMZ mode. MeinMMO shows you the new information.
The marketing for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is slowly but surely gaining momentum. Many content creators have already claimed to have had a look at the game, and apparently, some advertising partners are already allowed to get their hands on it.
Among them were the “Los Angeles Rams”, a team from the American football league NFL.
However, there apparently were some issues with communication. Some players from the team uploaded photos of the game on social media, allowing a first look at the multiplayer lobby. They also confirmed the DMZ mode in passing.

Leaks show multiplayer and DMZ mode
What new information has come from the leak? The most important new information is provided by two images. We will embed the images as a Twitter post:
- Image 1: Multiplayer lobby
Image 2: DMZ mode
Image 1: The first image basically only shows the user interface of the multiplayer lobbies. Additionally, a preview of one of the new multiplayer maps can be seen: “Valderas Museum”.
Image 2: The second image is part of a video and somewhat more exciting. Because here the inscription “DMZ” can be recognized.
Previous leaks suggest that this is the co-op mode of Modern Warfare 2. There will likely be no zombie mode, as in the two predecessors Cold War and Vanguard.
DMZ likely stands for “Demilitarized Zone” and is supposed to be a co-op mode that takes inspiration from the popular hardcore shooter Escape from Tarkov – an extraction shooter or EFT-like.
Officially, there is still no information about the mode. Not even a hint in that direction. So far, all leaks have come from dataminers or supposed insiders.
Now we have photographic evidence. And even though it’s still not entirely clear what the mode is about, it seems to be part of Modern Warfare 2. You can find more information about the DMZ mode and CoD MW2 in our big special.
