Battleborn is still very much alive despite the ongoing lack of success and is even getting more game modes. A new PvP mode called “Supercharge” combines the modes “Meltdown” and “Capture” into thrilling 3vs3 battles.
Battleborn, the colorful hero shooter from Gearbox, is now at least in the PvP mode Free2Play, but the unlucky game still hasn’t taken off. Instead of throwing in the towel, the developers continue to push forward. In this case, with a new PvP game mode that combines the best of the Capture and Meltdown modes.
Battleborn – Supercharge – MOBA mode meets Capture in small
The new game mode in Battleborn is called “Supercharge” and is a mix of the popular MOBA game mode Meltdown and the classic Capture mode. As in Meltdown, your task is to escort waves of minions so that they joyfully throw themselves into the maw of Minrec, the god-AI of robot recycling, thereby earning points for your team.
So far, so familiar, but in Supercharge, you can – as the name suggests – additionally charge the minions by capturing certain points. As long as you hold the points, your minions are stronger and give more points. That alone sounds like a lot of fun, but it gets even better.
Battleborn – New 3vs3 game mode especially for small player pool
The three new Supercharge maps (Ziggurat, Permafrost, and Horizon) are somewhat smaller than the usual maps and designed for 3vs3 players. You will need even more teamwork for victory and should be able to gather a round from the now quite limited number of active Battleborn players more quickly due to the smaller group size.
What do you think of the new game mode? Is it a good idea to develop a new mode with fewer players because there aren’t enough people for 5vs5? Or is Battleborn dead and just doesn’t know it yet? Let us know in the comments.
