With the upcoming update 4.5 “Legends Return”, Trion Worlds and XL Games are heralding a restart for the MMORPG ArcheAge.
Legends Return launches on April 5th and offers a fresh start for everyone who wants to experience ArcheAge anew or is joining for the first time. This will take place on two servers that will operate a bit differently than what you may be used to from previous servers.

Restart on Progression Servers: Nui and Ezi
The fresh start on the two servers will develop alongside you. Nui for North America and Ezi for Europe. These are progressive servers, similar to what Rift currently offers:
- Content will be released gradually and is available for a limited time
- You only create one hero
- The races Dwarves and Warborn are excluded because they level up too quickly
- Not all areas are accessible
- Level cap is 50

Get a Dragon as a Pet
Additionally, 4.5 offers the ability to obtain dragons as pets. You will raise these dragons and later even use them as mounts:
- You will receive a “Heart of Frozen Flame” from the Dragon Lord, whom you defeat in a raid
- You will raise one of three dragons that differ in color, lore, and breath
- Fully grown dragons can carry two passengers and can fly properly unlike gliders
- You must take care of the dragons; otherwise, you will lose their respect after 30 days

4.5 Comes to ArcheAge on April 5th
Moreover, update 4.5 improves crafting. Items can no longer be destroyed when crafting. Additionally, there will be new world bosses and adjustments will be made to the balancing of skills and combat.
Starting April 5th, you can log into one of the new servers. If you want to reserve your name and set your character’s appearance, you can do so three weeks in advance for a fee of $9.99.
4.5 Legends Return is not the first “restart” of ArcheAge. Over the years, the team at Trion Worlds has lured players with new servers. In ArcheAge, housing space is limited, making new servers particularly attractive. However, players on existing servers complain that this results in dead servers.
A remastered version of ArcheAge is currently in the works for Korea.
