In ArcheAge , the patch 2.0 was deployed yesterday. Players have already found something to complain about.
Year 2, the fresh start in ArcheAge, was supposed to begin on Saturday evening, and it did, but it went so disastrously for everyone involved, that a rollback was decided, and they tried again on Sunday. Such a fresh start is a damn important matter in ArcheAge: Within a few hours, a new server lays the groundwork for how it will run for months.
The launch on Sunday went relatively well for Europe, while there were bigger problems in the USA: Servers were brought up and down individually, checked, had queues, races were locked for balance reasons, the full program.
The Twitter account of ArcheAge documents the launch and reads like an adventure at times.

Pax Gift Causes Trouble
Year 2 is already experiencing a typical “ArcheAge shitstorm,” as can be seen on reddit and the ArcheAge forums. Apparently, on the “Fresh Start” servers, where a complete fresh start was supposed to happen, players could build “Ruby Solarium.” These are 28×28 “instant houses,” allowing players to secure a building spot immediately. While players were supposed to follow a plan to acquire the scarecrow and then other items, they were able to just place the item down and already have a spot secured.
The spicy part: These items were only available at the Pax event in Seattle. There, Trion Worlds handed them out as gifts to players. Some interpreted this as a “cash gift.” And so these items were heavily traded on eBay. They reached up to 200 US dollars there.
They probably should have disabled Ruby Solarium on the “Fresh Start” servers. As often, some had seen the problem coming, like this YouTuber here – and that’s exactly how it happened:
It is hard to say how extensive the problem is. It is unclear how many houses were exactly built on the Fresh Start worlds. However, it seems to have been a moral blow for some to rush and then find these “eBay-to-win” houses on their desired building spot.
It seems to be a “typical ArcheAge” problem. In the past, harmless things in the complex system of ArcheAge have caused major waves due to small mistakes.
