ARC Raiders is receiving criticism for the new game mode. The community accuses Embark of only being interested in one type of player.
What kind of mode is this? ARC Raiders has received a new mode with Update 1.13.0. This is supposed to offer players a new challenge and allows solo players to compete against full trio squads.
You can select the new mode as a solo player when starting a round, as long as you are at least level 40. However, trio squads cannot disable the option of having solo players in their lobbies.
Solo players taking on rounds with full squads are rewarded with a small incentive: bonus XP.
Poor reward for hard fight
Why is the mode considered a waste of time? Part of the community believes that the mode or the reward is a waste of time and unnecessary, as anyone capable of defeating a trio team alone does not need XP anymore and is likely at max level.
A player directly asks on Reddit: “What should I do with XP?” Another adds: “Yes, there needs to be an incentive. I’m level 75, XP is the last thing I need.” Many players agree that XP is the worst possible reward for the mode.
Many also question who the mode is generally aimed at. They don’t see themselves playing the mode and ask who would voluntarily participate – after all, you are always outnumbered there. Some players believe that the mode is mainly for streamers and are disappointed because they expected something that appeals to the entire community for the “level 40 mode” (via Reddit).
Upon release, there was already criticism that duos were matched with trios in one lobby. Embark then altered the matchmaking so that duos would now primarily play with other duos.
A large part of the community has been demanding a PvE mode for months, so that PvP can no longer be forced upon them.
