In the quest “With a View” in ARC Raiders, you need to find a rotaryencoder. But it is not so easy to find. How you complete the task, you can find out here.
What do you have to do for the quest? When you start the quest “With a View”, you first need to obtain a rotaryencoder, deploy it at a specific location, and then secure an ionizer.
But that’s not so easy, as both items belong to the rarer loot that is part of the notorious Exodus loot. How to complete the quest as quickly and safely as possible, we will explain in our guide.
Tip: Don’t play with a free loadout when approaching this quest. This way you can stash the items in your safety pocket once you finally get them. You don’t have to complete the quest in a single match and can ensure that you keep the item even if you fail in the match.
Pro tip for good friends: You can also give the rotaryencoder to friends or receive it from a friend to simplify the quest. You only need it for one step of the quest and can give it away or recycle it afterward. So it’s best to work together if multiple of you need to complete the quest; it’s safer and faster that way.
Finding the rotaryencoder – the best locations
Head to Stella Montis, where the rotaryencoder can potentially appear anywhere as blue loot. However, there are places where your chances are higher.
Travel to the north of the map, to the assembly workshops, the medical area, or the security office. If you want to be as safe as possible, the assembly workshops are a good choice. Depending on how long it takes you to get there, it might happen that the good loot has already been claimed by other raiders.
Unfortunately, it may take several attempts.
As a reminder: Once you have found the rotaryencoder, pack it into your safety pocket as quickly as possible so it doesn’t get lost if you should meet your demise. The areas where Exodus loot can be found are highly sought after, and there is a good chance you will encounter other raiders here.
Using the rotaryencoder – here’s how
Another reason why we recommend the assembly workshops as a location is that once you finally find the rotaryencoder, you can deploy it there right away. For this, look for a room with windows and terminals facing outside.
Still, it’s better to pack the rotaryencoder into your safety pocket. If you die on the way there, the item is unfortunately lost. Then look in these rooms for yellow-marked levers. Go there and activate the lever with the rotaryencoder.
Then look for a computer nearby and interact with it. You won’t need the rotaryencoder anymore after this, but it’s advisable to pack it back into your safety pocket just in case.
After that, you need to obtain another item: an ionizer.
Finding the ionizer and completing the quest
Fortunately, the map we showed you for the possible locations of the rotaryencoder also applies to the ionizer. So you can visit the same places again. But here, too, once you have the item, pack it in your safety pocket; otherwise, you will regret it.
Once you have secured the ionizer, finish the match and bring the item to Shani. This completes the quest.
