A new patch for the PC version of Apex Legends has been deployed. The hotfix is intended to reduce crashes.
What was patched? According to an official post from Respawn on reddit, several bugs that caused Apex Legends to crash on PC have been fixed. Some issues that could cause disruptions in memory have been resolved.
The patch is not the “end” of development, as there may still be issues with:
- memory
- rarely occurring problems
As a result of the patch, Apex Legends should now run more smoothly and no longer appear to randomly crash. During internal testing, there were no crashes anymore. The patch was deployed on March 22, and is now available.

I am still having problems: If the patch did not fix your crash issues, Respawn asks you to send the corresponding “apex_crash.txt” file to their support forum.
Why is the patch only coming now? Until now, it has been difficult for Respawn to pinpoint exactly why the PC version of Apex Legends crashed repeatedly. Many players have frequently complained. Even an update from Nvidia did not help much.
The problem had eventually grown almost as big as the hacker problem that Respawn is also addressing.
With the patch from March 19, which also deployed Season 1 and the Battle Pass, it was possible to work on the crashes.

With the new patch, Apex Legends writes a text file that records the causes of a crash. If this is sent to Respawn, developers can read exactly what happened. This allowed the crashes to be fixed with the new hotfix.
What else will be fixed in the future? Since both the hacker problem and the crashes have now been addressed for the time being, there are no major official changes planned. Only these two will likely be dealt with more intensively.
Pro player Shroud, however, sees still room for improvement in the game itself, as the hype seems to be dying down at the moment. The Battle Pass is also not as successful as hoped, which, however, did not hurt the revenue figures of Apex Legends in February too much.

According to a leak, fans can at least look forward to “missions” that may improve the Battle Pass. However, there is still nothing concrete regarding new features or problem resolutions.
